I have been so frustrated since i cannot talk to you in your language yet, but i am slowly learning. I find myself looking forward to seeing you each day and feel my heart beating a bit faster when i spot you, and you smile at me with that beautiful smile of yours. Hello people :). I work at Grundfos Bjerringbro in Denmark and have for several years, we used to have a local woman clean our offices but she quit some time ago, and then two very pretty women came from ISS and took over her job, the blonde woman of the two captured my attention right from the start and the only thing we can say to each other is Hello and Good morning, both of us with huge smiles on our faces. Lately i have been told by my co-workers that when she comes into our factory floor she always tracks me out in the middle of it all and smiles wistfully at me so i REALLY want to be able to communicate with her, it is so damn frustrating only to be able to say hello and then smile a sad smile at her because of the darn language barrier. Why did i join here?, because i really want to do something about it, just perhaps to learn a little about her. And my hope is that you people would be willing to give a guy with a huge heart some help here :). Crap...i see her face at all times when i close my eyes....i really have it bad for her hehe. Go for basics: Hello - Cześć - Cheshch How are you? - Jak sie masz - Yak shee mash Good thanks, and you? - Dobrze dzięki, a ty? - Dobze Jenki, a ty? That might not sweep her off her feet, but it means you can at least say hello...and that's always an important first step.

Thanks :D, that is precicely the way i want to start, just to let her know that i am trying to learn as you say the basics, don't want to profess my love to her and botch it up and say something like your ear is smelling like a dun-beetle and so on ;). hehe... Will try those tomorrow, and a HUGE thanks for the phonetic spelling in the end, a real help :D. Thank you :). Oh, I know when I first started learning to impress my girlfriend I came here as well. A good start is: http://www.polishforums.com/please_verify_polish_phonetics-18_1958_0.h tml It's quite good as there are lots of phonetics and a few sweet words.

In the first post they are, but if you read down a bit there is a half decent phonetic (and spelling) list of those things. There are not many phonetic guides out there without buying yourself a phrasebook or something. I could pass on a load of sites with sentences and phrases that will come in handy...but if you can't pronounce polish words and letters then they just look like jibberish.

Well I am rubbish at approaching women...never been a strong point at all! But starting off saying hello to someone in their own language (which you don't speak) makes it obvious that you are interested...you wouldn't go to the effort of learning otherwise. But yeah, roses is a good idea...i just wish i had the confidence to do something like that!

Cardno85: i just wish i had the confidence to do something like that! well, the whole point of it is to show hes a good guy, roses are a strong communication, someone who cant hear, recieves flowers, what is the first thing they will do/say? wow , these are beautiful.. and then the guy says.. so are ??? so she is Polish and doesnt speak english, but I bet she says, these are beautiful so he can say in Polish what??? so are U.. then she will get the hint and of course someone who is fluent in both languages can translate and take if from there.. ok so thats my senario.. :)

Sorry but you are of course right, the wording should have been that i am smitten with her, infatuated?. :), in love is something that comes along if you click :). Thanks to all of you :D. damn i'm actually getting a bit nervous, and there is no chance in hell that i am going to give her roses infront of all of my co-workers...what a field day they would have :). But perhaps a single rose when in private....sounds good. Still going to greet her tomorrow in polish, just to announce that i really am interested in her :). Sleep well folks :) and thanks again. time means: go for the best looking girl in the place There is a lot of truth in that....when i was younger there were certain girls that nobody would chat up , as they were just so pretty and thought to be out of our league , but later when i was doing a bit good at being a motorcycle race champion i had no fear of chatting up the most stunning girl in the place...Only later did it occur to me that they didn,t actually know i was a bit famous , and looked the same as before....So the only thing that had changed , was that i was more confident , and less fearfull of being told to take a hike....So guys....get out there , and go for the good lookers , you never know , you might be just what she is looking for , and if she says get lost , well what the hell , its no matter.....

i wasin same shoes as you... i didnt no a word of polish at all.... until i have finally got the balls to ask her out on date... bla bla... she taught me words... and i also bought a polish phrase book and dictionary...very handy.. has the english word... then the polish word... then how to pronounce the polish word.. very good i would deffiantly reccomend:D. good luck:D

Hello again :). Well...what can i say...the face of her when i started talking polish sentenses is something i will never forget, first a show of surprise came on her, then she just began to snicker, laugh silently and smile that beautiful smile with her lips and eyes, those eyes....oh dear god....thank you for making this fine speciment of a woman is all i could think :D. I was actually so proud of myself that i even forgot to ask for her name :S. And the rest of the day she smiled hugely at me each time she saw me :). I have to learn these : - Are you single? (hehe..) If she is not single (i hope not), but if she is i want to be able to say this : - He is a very lucky man!. And also these: - I can say things in polish - I don't understand what you say, yet! - I really want to get to know you, can you teach me polish?. I hope you will help me out here :).
