Problems with the heart, allergies, headaches, skin problems, abdominal pains, weight gain, they have all kinds of medical problems, whether young or old.Is this a psychosomatic demonstration of stress?Of depression?
And all this medication taking and doctors visiting.Incredible.

There's a certain element of self pity involved, sometimes a major element. On some occasions, it pays to get an L4 than work. Just like bribes, a large part of Polish society accepts that it exists and roll with it.

My wife forever has sth amiss.

headaches

I sometimes get occasional headaches. For some strange reason, headaches usually occur during the hours of 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Miraculously my headache disappears at 4:31 p.m.; after the work whistled has been blown.

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

Not only Polish women. World women.
Main reason is economic dependency (to husbands, sons, relatives, etc.)

Read world statistics. More (?) than 80% of women have no economic freedom.
This makes them either prostitutes or sick.

Maybe Poles pay a little too much attention to some symptoms. Many Poles go to the doctor if they have the common cold, and take 3-4 drugs to reduce the symptoms. If they cough just a little they buy cough syrup etc. Of course it's a generalization, but many Poles visit the doctor also with minor problems that will solve without doing anything at all.

If I went to the doctor in Sweden because I had the common cold they would call me crazy.

There is a reason why there can be one Apteka in almost every block in Polish cities.

Polish girls in foreign countries also have the same symptoms. One recent example one gf developed a serious allergy, the other had head CT scan, then was ill,the one developed incontinence etc.I remember a former gf who was found epileptic and started antiepileptic drugs and I have another one who started taking drugs for the heart.Crazy since all these girls are young.

I think one explanation of why Poles may visit the family doctor for a common cold or other similarly mild illness is because of the L4/sick leave. Although the common cold is minor, you still would probably like to stay at home under your ko³derka for a day or two. If you have a job and want to get sick leave for that, you need to go to the doctor. I recall my first visit to a Polish doctor. We had some communication problems but he asked me "How many days?" and I replied that I had been ill for about 5 days. He asked me again, "How many days will you be ill?" I replied that I didn't know and couldn't really say as I had no idea what was wrong with me (that being his job to tell me). We went around in circles for awhile until I finally got it. I got a week off from work and a prescription for a lot of useless herbal remedies.

Maybe polish girls get ill because they don't eat enough in order not to gain weight or because they get depressed etc.

You're right. About 3 1/2 years ago I had become obsessed with overly working out. I'd walk 6 miles+ a day; even spent part of my lunch hour walking. In addition, I'd go & bust my dupa at the gym for a couple hours a day. One problem, I had become so damn skinny. I even started to lose too much of my dupa. Look at my following pic from that time period. My neck was even sinking in.Within a 6 month time frame, I had gone from a size 8, down to a size 5. My friends & family told me I looked sickly. I don't know why I did that to my body.

I'm now back to my normal weight. Glad to say, I now feel and look much better physically.

Now you mention it, indeed, every PL girl I've known always had a truckload of medicins in her house. Don't know why that is, but I know it's only with them; maybe they all come from heavy industrialised areas where the air is not so clean?

nomaderol:

Hm, not quite. From my own experience I can say it's only with PL females. I've never seen any other type of girl carry so much medicine around with her.

I should workout a little bit more. Only prob is that over here the Gyms are so darn expensive. You pay about 400 Euros to subscribe and then an additional 100+ Euros every month. Actually I never understood why these 400 Euros (about $600) are...:?

"How many days will you be ill?"

This summarizes all then. Doctors. And, they write drugs, medicines a lot. Doctors and pharmacies are best friends in all businesses. They have to be made enemies of each others, but, how.

People in Poland eat too much fattening food such as szmalec, fat kie³basa and many have liver problems because of too much cholesterol. I have seen a few guys out jogging in Poland but never a woman.

Anything can be overdone; especially when it comes to working out and dieting. I happen to be a perfect example.

The point is that I don't workout at all at the moment :S I used to do that, back in NL though: 3-4 times a week...But like said, everything is so freaking expensive over here, it loses quite some of the fun - for a gym with the same equipment for which I pay about 1500 Euros per year ($2200), I paid about 300 Euros ($450) in NL. I just wonder...Why does everything have to be so very, very expensive here...Really p*sses me off at times.

Why are your links blue and mine black? I want to have blue links too! And I want smileys!

But on topic: indeed, they are Hypochondriacs. Always complaining about this and about that and the effect of one pill gets neutralised by another pill and for vitamins they take some more tablets...and on and on...

I think women are too busy to visit doctors quickly. I think women should pay attention to her body and go to doctor quickly.

I think women are working too much at work or home or farms. They do have to take care of their children which is very difficults for her to do.

I do have respect for them because they loves their children very much.

I think it may have to do with negative energy amongst some. That is a sure way to get ill quickly. More positive vibes keep the doctor away, forget the apples ;)

Positive vibes, or maybe just a decently working vibrator? :P

It may also be due to the national sport in PL, self-pity...Over-exhaggerating the trouble that has come over them, complain, complaining et cetera.

I think from the Polish girls I know this is true, they do go to the doctor quickly with symptoms and most often they are right. I find that sometimes myself and other Scots girls tend to hang off going to their doctor often to their detriment.

All due to phobias of virginity, pregnancy (abortion legal there in pl?), prostitucy and so on then if mostly girls.

However, single reason of all these reasons is lack of economic freedom of female world. This is a big pressure on female world. Dependency is a hard thing, makes people sick. I've seen many mothers who have spent their lifes by looking into hands of their husbands, sons, relatives throughout their life and passed away. I've seen many old women, who weren't taken care of by their children, lived a life of misery before passing away. Women have to say stop to this going.

I think a lot is due to the fact that as youngsters Polish kids are wrapped in cotton wool by parents/grandparents, taken to the doctors over anything from a grazed knee to the slightest rash! And as a result there immune systems are not allowed to develop naturally hence the level of sickness in later life. Even a common cold seems to cripple most Poles. Add this to the fact that they take about four different medicines for the slightest cough and its not surprising that they have weak immune systems.
