Sending flowers to my Polish boyfriend

My Polish boyfriend of 7 months is in spain working att he moment.i ammissing himso i have sent him flowers.is this cool with polish guys? we are both romantic

I send my boyfriend flowers and balloons all the time. He begs me not to do it. Because it embarasses him at work with the "guys". However he is always in the best mood afterwards and I get lots of attention.

He told me once it makes him feel really special.

Go for it girl.

I would love to send my bf flowers, but i've found that its VERY expensive. any advice?

z ciekawości pytanie do Panów z Polski co wy myślicie o tym żeby kobieta wam kwiaty wysyłała bo jak dla mnie to taki trochę nie nasz zwyczaj, żeby mężczyzna kwiaty dostawał, dość smieszne, alem ciekaw wielce co inni myślą. Piszę do was po polsku bo innych to i tak nie dotyczy, a nie chcę kobitek tutaj też urazić ;)

halo guys so whats wrong with spoiling someone you care about? i did try to organise food and beer to be sent to him and his friends he is in gran canaria las palmas-i l looked on the internet-telephoned las palmas tourist office and the hotel he is staying in to organise a treat for him. the hotel wouldnt take credit cards and i had no joy with the tourist office. so interflora it was. they send champayne in england but apparently not spain-i even tried to get a food hamper sent-no sucess there either. he loved the flowers anyway!-their beauty and fragrance reminding him of me! he has been away for a month. he works long hours 12-15 per day 7 days a week so i think he deserves treats!! if anyone knows of a polish restaurant in las palmas or anything else i could syrprise him with please inform me. he maybe back in england soon. so i need to be able to organise another treat soon-question i would be grateful to receive advice on how to make him feel really special-the polish way thanks

Look on the internet for a local florist (local to your bf that is).

I use charityflowers.com. It isnt any cheaper, but a percentage of the cost goes towards a charity that you can specify from a long list. Might make you feel better about spending so much money. There are some cheaper places than interflora or this one though.. just google cheap flowers.

Guys,

All this talk about flowers, i would never like to receive flowers as i see them as a sign of a dying relationship. They don't last long!!!

I would rather just have a nice phone call at the end of a day when i'm away :)

thats such a pessimistic view Tornado... flowers are lovely. My partner always takes my mom flowers when he visits and it makes her so happy.. sometimes little things go a long way. You send the flowers and then follow it up with a phone call.

hardly pessimistic, flowers die and they don't last long, that sounds to me like a fact :)

i have always believed in showing my emotions to my partners but not with flowers, i don't think there is anything wrong with that is there??

everyone likes to receive flowers. when my guy buys me flowers-he chooses carefully bouquets with flowers at different stages of blooming as he said with the first ones he sent me as each bud grows so will our love. i love talking and being together of course, but when he is away such gestures as sending flowers speak volumes. thats why i sent him some. i know most of you guys would prefer beer or food-so you prefer to eat dead plants/animals then marval at their beauty firat-think about it lol

Hehehe :) Debianco, giving flowers to a man isn't "the Polish way", so I guess it does sound a little bit strange for us Poles. Is it a norm in the UK for women to buy men flowers? Was it always like that or maybe it is just a side effect of emancipation in your country? I'm curious.

Still, this is the beauty of a mixed relationships. If I was to have a British girlfriend, and she would bought me flowers, I would definitely feel strange but happy at the same time. All the best to you. :)

I would feel special, that’s why I wrote that I would be happy to receive a gift from my loved one, but in Poland it is the man that gives flowers to a woman. Not the other way around. Oh, and I'm not saying that it's better or worse. Just different.

the way you are treating him by sending him flowers might simply look for other polish people that he is not the man in your relationship and that is the funny part.

In our culture it goes the other way around so some ppl might take it wrong and make fun from it. I'm sure he appreciates your intentions although I dont find to to be the best possible choice.

That sounds really insecure to me. Belive me my guy won't do anything he doesn't want to do and I have tried beyond belief to get my way sometimes. And he loves the flowers. ;-)

everyone is different. but the author asked if its normal to send flowers to a pole. the answer is easy - No, its not in our custom. Has nothing to do with insecurity. Of course its nice to get proof of affection bus as I said. ITS THE VERY OPPOSITE OF OUR CUSTOMS- thats the point.
