Hi to all and warm greetings. Please help me with a dilema. I a few weeks ago I recieved an email out of the blue from a young Polish woman. I replied to her and was totally honest. I told her I was more than twice her age, I was not wealthy etc. etc. and she still wrote back to me! Now let me tell you, she is not only a stunner but she has almost told me her life story. In my last email to her I purposely put down things that would put off 99% of women and still her last email ends with (I have copied and pasted this directly from her email) With love and hugs. Elena. Most you out there have probably heard the expession about the internet 'if it's too good to be true then it usually is' Well, that's what it looks like to me in this case, as her writing seems so genuine it's enough to make an old man weep! Just as an addage let me tell you I am not your typical old fart and I have a little saying: 'I may be old and at times foolish but I’m not both old and foolish at the same time! So there you have it. Your advice would be greatly appreciated

I'm intrigued as to how she got your e-mail address in the first place. I would be very weary. As Bzibzioh has already suggested . . . proceed with caution!!

These scammers are very clever.....she may be genuine....but then again..? I have had loads of such emails from stunning Russian girls half my age . yeah right...? the girl in the photo probably just got paid by the local gangsters to have her pic taken , then the pic is sent to you with a note , probably written by some old crow thats good at English , and in a short time this stunner falls in love with you...next step is of course the visit to you , which she needs money for , followed by a further request for dosh to ease customs problems or maybe her mother will suddenly get very ill and need medicine....end result is some sucker pays out lots of dosh , and a gang of criminals go out and have a good time on your money...just be carefull...read about Russian scammers on the net , see if the patterns described are similar...????

Thankyou for your words of wisdom. I am a cautious man, as I hope you may have realised and there is no way I would leap in blind. But being the soft SH1T that I am I will probably end up finding her a suitable and willing applicant. cable: Yes I was too and asked her in my first email where she got my address but she said she could not remember! MareGaea: When you say address I presume you mean her email address. Yes I have and it ends with yahoo.pl so I have to presume it's direct from Poland. 'You're sure she is not hopitalized or something?' That bought a smile to my face :-)) In a mental institution perhaps? Or may be even a blind school for mentally handicapped nymphomaniacs? Thanks again for your replies, please keep them coming. As opposed to the 'Iron Lady' I am well amused with your replies.

Eric Crapton: Yes I was too and asked her in my first email where she got my address but she said she could not remember! that is a read flag already, I would block her pronto. If you never given her your e-mail address (unless it was part of your info on the website), then you have a scammer.

Ok, I am really greatful to you all. Believe me when I say I will not get stung. I have read far too many harrowing cases of such things going on. And as they say, 'One cannot get blood out of a stone.' I am that stone, skint but proud. wildrover: 'Get a nice woman of your own age.' I have been trying for over a year but apart from all the emotional/relationship baggage women of my age seem to lug around with them, they just can't keep up with me, if you know what I mean ;-)

Eric Crapton Eric, you keep quoting the wrong persons :) First you put a quote of wildrover in my name and now you do it vice versa :) Not a big problem, but just so you know ;) I understand what you mean, but, if I may be honest, you yourself have emotional and relational baggage with you yourself. Really, believe me. She can be somewhat younger than you, but not too much, it really doesn't work in the long term. Of course, I can hear everybody already saying "yes, but I know a couple of 25 years difference and that works fine". Yeah well, exceptions do the rule and you will have to find them like you will have to find the needle in a haystack. Young chicks are good for one night if you're more than twice as old as them and for the rest...forget it. But it's up to you, Just giving my piece of heartily meant advice. M-G (tsk)

Its an internet dating bot he is talking about. They are prevalent about Russians women... aiming at western men! And these days absolutely any man!!! Any man with money (and a credit card) ofcourse. How come ppl fall for that? :D

I think this is really dodgy. Please don't get scammed, there are plenty of genuinely good polish people out there, but you don't need to have a cyber relationship......She's probably doing this to many others too!!

wildrover Second that. Be careful. And in fact, it's easy: it's Inet, so why do you still reply to her? Just stop replying. She will send some more emails, but it will stop eventually. Cases like this are always so freaking hard to prove: if you ask her to call you on the phone, those criminals may have some bimbo at hand who gets indeed paid to tell you everything you want to hear; in short, every proof you ask for can be faked and like wildrover the wolf already stated; if you fall for this scam, you'll end up paying loads of money. Best way to meet chicks is still meeting them on social events like pubs, clubs, etc. And what'd you think? You're twice as old as her, if she is real; even if you would get together with her, do you really think that there would be a chance?? Age difference only works to a maximum of 10 to 15 years and even then it will be very difficult to maintain because the both of you are in such different stages of life that it will never work in the end and you both will get hurt. Chickadees of half your age only work for one night stands. Remember that! So, if I were you, I would just cut the contact. So what if you run the risk that she is genuine, there are plenty of others out there and she was too young for you anyway, so it would never have worked. Get a nice woman of your own age or just a few years younger. You will see there are plenty of them and eventually it will be longer lasting. Good luck my man! You think she almost told you her life story, but the truth is, you don't know a single thing about this young lady, except for all the things she's been telling you. Eric Crapton: Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Treat her as a talk buddy, and don't expect anything else. You should go out and meet women if you want to, and chances are that you'll find yourself a genuine lady who might actually see something in you. Maybe after a few dates, a few chats, a few activities or even a few drinks. I'd say it all depends on what you're looking for, and what the women are looking for! This girl probably needed a talk buddy, and perhaps she tought a kind stranger would be a safe way of getting a few things off of her chest. Maybe she has been reading things from you on the internet before she contacted you, who knows? :)

Arien: Yep, that's exactly what I'm doing, a talk buddie is all she is and as I have already stated if she ends up being genuine (I won't hold my breath!)
