I've heard it said (jokingly) in Poland that the typical Polish woman: MA DZIECKO GENIALNE, MĘŻA DEBILA I NIE MA SIĘ W CO UBRAĆ! (Has a kid that's a genius, an imbecile for a husband and nothing to wear). Another bit of common wisdom contends: If there was only one orange, the French would divide it up equally amongst family members; Greeks would give it to the wise old grandfather, the family patriarch; Poles would divide it up equally amongst the children; and the Italians would wrap it in fancy paper and present it to their Mama Mia. Unfortunately the anecdote stopped short of saying what would have been done in England, Ireland, Germany and elsewhere. Any comments?

Being rude isn't a common thing for Polish women, we are not offensive and aggressive for no reason unlike it might be the case for girls from Western countries. Just my thoughts...

Duh! This is not complaining and grumbleing, it's being honest with men and telling them when they're wrong. You have to subdivide into age groups, Pol3. The ones who are 'of marrying age', i.e 25-30, tend to be highly domesticated, looking for stability and can be defensive.

There's that saying The squeaky wheel gets oiled. I don't get what the big deal is about complaining. If no one ever said anything nothing would ever get any better. aeracankas are way more pro active with way less groaning. Um, not sure what those are. Maybe we complain and are pro active at the same time? Someone's gotta say something first or no one will know. I admit complaining is fun and is second nature to me.

Be strong and assertive, but no one wants to hear girl/guy complain. Waste of time. There's nothing wrong with being straightforward. Often times, with women, it's misconstrued of being not so nice..Whereas, a man is considered to be strong.

Instead of complaining and you can do a better job; than maybe you should've done it in the first place. Trust me it's not a good tactical practice to be effective.

It's complaining and that's not the same thing. Where I live everyone does it. People are always complaining about something here and then what do you know? Something happens to change what they are complaining about if enough of them do it. Wow. Progress is possible.

But the problem in Poland, especially in customer service, is that whining is met with whining. I can think of a number of places where the workers will have a go at the customer. A problem of Poles, many of them women, is that they are never wrong and can't take the blame. For the booty? Well, not in my case but I can't speak for everyone.
