Australian marrying a Polish citizen in a civil ceremony

Hi,
I am getting married to a Polish citizen in Gdansk in July 2010. He has lived in Australia for about 23 years and is an Australian citizen now. I was born in Australia. We have family in Poland who have been great helping us organise things, such as a reception venue etc.
Do we have to personally take paperwork to the registry office 30 days before the wedding day, or can we send this over and have a family member take it in for us? Thanks for you help!!

you have to go for a premarital instruction to some expirienced catholic priest and go on a pilgrimage to Jasna Gora. you cant get married till than. rules are rules.

OP, you need to ask your family members to find that out for you.

Thanks for your replies. We are DEFINITELY sticking with the civil ceremony!!! I'll get the family on the job...they seem more excited than we are! Thanks again!

Hello,
I am attempting to get married in Poland too in 2010... in a village about 14 kms from Gdansk. I am an Australian, and I met my partner on the net in 2008. I traveled to Poland in July 2009 to meet and propose to my partner. I am in the process of working out what I need to do. My partner wishes to live with me in Australia when we are married... so I have visas and other things to get through too. It's going to be an interesting year!!!
