Eurotrash

A human sub-phylum characterized by its apparent affluence, worldliness, social affectation and addiction to fashion. Males are characterized by a semi-slovenly appearance (including half-shaven faces), greasy hair, rib-hugging shirts, tight jeans and loafers worn without socks. Women are easily distinguished by anorexia, over-bleached hair, gaudy jewelry, plastic surgery (particularly breast-enlargement) and their attachment to the male species. Both sexes greet each other with “air kisses,” immediately speak of their last trip (often Paris, Rome, Majorca), spend hours at “see-and-be-seen” restaurants and exhibit a world-weariness and pained sense of irony.

Is the 'Euro-Trash' phenomena still in existence and what is the Polish variety like?

I always thought the Rolling Stones (and Anita Pallenberg) were semi 'originators' of the style.

Sounds painfully like the 'Ugly American' stereotype of decades ago in Mexico, Hawaii, even Europe and other vacation spots where well-heeled post-War Yanks went as watering holes for the wealthy and where, if the truth be known, many behaved atrociously!!

At least south of the border, the term 'gringo' is not negative for nothing.-:)

Yes, and it has a negative touch! The 'lifestyle' involves spreading out all over the place with little to no consideration of one's neighbors, trashing tthe host country and behaving in a drunken, loud and inappropriate fashion.

Remind you of anything??? LOL

The food was anything but trashy today. I thought the Scots made very good home-made fare but this was a notch above.

Thanks go out to my mother-in-law to be. She is so modest but served up stuff to die for.

How then does traditional Hagis or that punch you serve around Hogamoaney stack up against bigos and żubrówka, the latter mostly around Sylwester?

I've never drunk punch at Hogmanay, dunno what you mean.

I love haggis and bigos. Haggis is served on Jan 25, not at Xmas. We eat turkey with Brussels Sprouts and neeps then.

Żubrówka, what did my American friend say, "bison's pis*'. I quite like it but it's overrated.

We say 'Bueffelschnaps' in German. Strong stuff, let me tell you-:) Stronger even than Jaegermeister, which is for me no more than a glorified liquorice candy beverage, with alchohol added as a sort of afterthought.
