Lost Polish Poem about a Young Soldier during World War I Heard in School

When I still went to school in Poland I read a poem about a Very young Polish Soldier. This poem was so sad to me because it talked about how he fought using boots which were too big, gun too long hat too large, raincoat too heavy etc. I do believe its a poem but it could be apigment of my imagination since I make up songs and pooems in my sleep which I later wake up to think are songs I heard on tv but my brain actually composed them.

Does anyone know the poem I am talking about and what it is called and where I can find it and read it?
It was during a war and he participated in fighting with older Polish brothers.

well there's "elegia (o ch³opcu polskim)" by K.K. Baczyński. It is sort of a school classic but it doesn't really fit your description...
