Quick one please....Fiancee's Babcia passed away yesterday, I got work comittment and very little free money so I can't really afford for her to go over let alone both of us (wizzair are so expensive at the mo) WOULD there be any reprecussions by me NOT attending funeral tomorrow?

What sort of repercussions do you mean? With the family? I doubt it. Or was there something else on your mind?

Im sure theyll understand if you have comitments. if you cant afford it thats a pretty good excuse and true by the sounds of it. Times are hard.

Ive had my arm twisted into attending certain traditions like Christenings and such, somethings are unavoidable. Deaths cant be planned therefore you have benefit of the doubt.

most people in attendance probably don't know who you are.

the rest, close family, should understand.

i would think that it is important for your partner to be there.

make sure that the family get a message of condolence from both you and your partner.

Hard to say really, it all depends on the family and their personal attitude. When my aunt died and my uncle (her cousin) didn't come to the funeral because he wasn't in the city at that moment my family felt a bit disgusted about his absence especially that they grew up together and were quite close to each other. Since you aren't the member of this family I don't think they may feel offended.

good remark

In my opinion you should go but don't have to If you have some important things to do. She has to go.

Bardzo dziękuję .... I managed to go at the very last minute- most people did know who I was and my presence was greatly accepted by all.
Thanks for your input
