hey im trying to learn Polish and im in my second semester preparing myself for Poland this summer. i watched katyń but im looking to watch little kid shows so i can learn polish on youtube. i watched a disney movie aladdin which was good and another question, should i have it with english subtitle or not. you would be amazed how many videos are on youtube. watching a kids polish show if you know the name probably would help out the best. please give me some ideas.

if you know no polish, i'd suggest watching with subs, at least at first. That'll let you get a feel for the language. It's how I picked up a bit of Japanese (yes... anime mostly), but from experience I can promise you it's not a fast way to pick up more than a few phrases without a working background where the show introduces something new to your pre-existing vocab.
Why are you going to PL in the summer, and for how long?
I'd say you'll pick up most of the stuff you'll need once you get there and get immersed in it- that's probably the quickest way. Before then try to build up everyday vocab you'd need and some tourist phrasing. Those pocket tourist things they sell are awesome in that respect, as they concentrate on stuff you'll need right away vs delving into grammar and tons of words you'll not use in tourist situations. It's more important to be able to get your meaning across than to say things perfectly if you'll be thrown in the midst of it ('cab where?' works 9times out of 10 and is hella easier to learn than 'pardon me, but do you know where I might be able to find a taxi around here?', though asking in that way will make you announce yourself as a tourist).
Having said that, disney and other such things are good, as you're familiar with the story and can concentrate on how things are said, vs what is happening and how things are said and so on. If you have a kind of movie you like to watch, throw a few of those in, too. You'll get more out of it if you actually enjoy what you watch, even if you'll have to watch it a couple times before the above happens to a vid you haven't seen in eng.
