Do Polish people like chatting with strangers in public or it is intrusive?

Do the Poles like to chat with strangers, say in a pub, park or train? Or do they find it intrusive if approached by someone that isn't familiar to them, or worse, speaking foreign language? How it is about entering into a pub table where there are already other people you don't know, etc...

What is the Polish conception of personal/private space, what is the polite distance you should keep, how it's with touching or hugging (close friends only?) and so on?

I find it fine, I often have random conversations with people that I don't know, Its just the same as in the UK well the north of England,

The older generations don't seem as open and happy to engage in conversation though.
