Since 2003, the festival has been the annual centrepiece of Krakow's Culture for Tolerance Foundation, which seeks not only to increase tolerance of LGBTQ people but also to promote "all [their] artistic and intellectual endeavours," according to their website. However, 2009 marked the first year that the artistic and human rights components of the festival were separated.

WTF Artistic and intellectual endeavours??

Same-sex pairs of iconic Greek sculptures had been Photoshopped into compromising positions, then placed into bright yellow hearts.

I am sorry, but the agenda/The mere purpose is way to forced.. so they have to
expect intolerance. I dont want to be taught about compromised positions of gays
or homosexuals..

Pawian,

You didn't read the article.

Queering Krakow's Culture
Lauren Dubowski | 30th April 2009

The sixth Culture for Tolerance Festival takes place in April

The big pink posters made it hard to miss Krakow's sixth Culture for Tolerance Festival, which took place April 16-19. Same-sex pairs of iconic Greek sculptures had been Photoshopped into compromising positions, then placed into bright yellow hearts. Queer culture had hit town, and it was here to party to this year's theme: "Art for Pleasure."

Why do queers have to be 'in your face'?

Oh, we are in EU now, so we want to imitate the ever so progressive, more enlightened members:

AMSTERDAM, May 30, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The newly formed Charity, Freedom and Diversity (NVD) party of the Netherlands has introduced itself to Dutch politics as a champion of children's rights and has vowed, "We are going to shake The Hague awake!"

The NVD is Europe's first political party dedicated to promoting and legitimizing pedophilia. In a press release, the NVD's spokesman and co-founder, Ad van den Berg said among their goals is lowering the age of consent for sexual activity from 16 to 12 and eventually eliminating it completely.

So stay at home and don't go to the festival. Nobody's forcing you to go. Though rednecks are welcome too.

Why not become progressive and enlightened, instead of just imitating?

And what's the connection between a Kraków arts festival and your quote about Dutch paedophiles? Not that a country with so many RC priests has anything to learn about that subject!

That's definitely not my cup of tea. It's a good job nobody forced me to attend such an event.

Spot on. With the economic benefit and freedom of movement and employment that the EU offers, comes a certain pressure to relinquish the rather antiquated principles associated with backward cultures/beliefs. It's one of the reasons that Turkey struggles for membership.

You can't have your cake and eat it.

According to this:

The age in the Netherlands is 16, one year older than in Poland.....

He doesn't want that. He wants to have his cake, complain about the portion size, eat half of it, complain about the quality of it and still have it. Oh, and get the Germans, British and Swedish to pay for it of course. And then complain that it's made his stomach hurt and that everybody else has bigger slices left. It's the Polish way with the EU!

These are merely art work of those who have a sexual orientation different from yours. No one ever forces you to try the compromised positions of gays or homosexuals. What is actually being forced on you?

Kraków is host to a multitude of festivals every year, many of which I have attended--and many which I haven't. I do not think anything is being forced/imposed upon anyone, nobody has to attend if they do not want to. IMO, of course.

uk, think what you want, I didnt say I was intolerant, I said they should expect
intolerance , displaying these types of things only makes it worse for them..
I am prob the most tolerant person you will ever meet in your life.. I bet
you have met many intolerants too havent you UKPOLSKA
I am ashamed at you for thinking otherwise, you didnt read properly.

I dont make it my mission to go to these parades and cause someone harm, but
alot of groups do..

promote "all [their] artistic and intellectual endeavours,"
Pani_Polska:

I would agree with you , but.. see above, and why have a festival then?
why have a parade? to show people its ok to be different. and I am not
against people being different

and
which seeks not only to increase tolerance of LGBTQ people
So Jonni, are you their leader? I think your doing a pretty shytty job.
arent these festivals supposed to be peaceful and promote something like tolerance?

well theres your captain!! good thing I didnt call you a name, cause I was almost
branded intolerant, but of course no one thinks that people who are gay or homosexual are intolerant to heterosexuals. or call names.. but they do, they are more intolerant
then we are.. so my opinion still stands.. and if anyone can guess or read it correctly
you get a free vacation in the best hotel on earth..

Hotel California

on a dark desert highway.. cool wind in my hair!!

It's an art exhibition. Ars gratia artis. No longer connected to the Human Rights event. There are thousands of exhibitions, wernisaży, wystawy in Poland every year. Why is this one so interesting to you?

And check my original post to decide if I'm calling you names or making a general point. I'd also refer you to your original inflammatory post.

Do people often force you to attend events? Good God, where do you live? North Korea?

I noticed a Q added to LGBT. I presume it means queer, but why add it when the lesbos and gays are already listed? Besides, calling someone a queer in English is similar to the Polish pedał.
