What should I name my female child?

I was thinking "Flow." Any suggestions of Polish names? It is a girl.

I named my little girl Eva, and rather that pronounce it in the typically English way of Eeva, it is pronounced 'E'va, I also like the name Ranya, which I think is short for Renatta

BrutalButcher: What about Katarzyna....or Emma? Not very original there, judging from the OP's suggestion of Flow id say hes looking for something quite rare. I almost called my daughter Scarlett. My wife liked Kazsiena, not sure of the actual polish spelling.

What does the mother of the child want to name her? She gave birth to her and was with her all this time, the decission of naming her should go to her. I also don't like when people name their children after their dead relatives. Why? This is a fresh, new person not gramma or aunt or someone else in the family that died.

Its a sign of respect and a tradition, one which my family keeps up where the males are concerened, first male born named after their father. I was named after my dead grandma, nothing weird, its respectful.

Don't do Flow! It's a euphimism for woman's period. In the old Polish tradition, pick a name that has a patron saint. I'm not that religious, but that's kinda quaint. On the day of her birth check out the Polish calendar to see if the name of a female patron saint for that day is not totally hideous. You might be in luck.

f stop: pick a name that has a patron saint. My wife and I chose names that are not connected to saints... it saves us a fortune in gifts.
