Can someone tell me about traditional Polish music? And maybe a few examples?

I'm working on a Culture Fair Project and need information about traditional Polish music and few examples. And what does "mikolaje" mean?

Mikołaj is a Polish version of Nicolas. Mikołaje is plural. Could also mean St. Nicolas eatable figurines (made of ginger?) given to children for Christmas.

Thanks for that, I found some music earlier and wasn't sure whether that was the title or the name of the musical group.

In rural areas of the Opole region of SE Poland, there is (or used to be) a tradition of house-to-house visits called Mikiołaje on or around 6 Dec. The revellers -- the bishop Święty Mikołaj plus a whole menagerie of charatcers: priest, solider, doctor, gypsy, Jew, etc. make their annual rounds and receive treats in return.
Is anybody on PF from the Opole region and/or has witnessed this custom personally?
