Suggestions required for a song that indicates "Poland".

This summer I'll be back in Poland teaching conversational English. I like to bring in a lot of music to classes. One activity I'm thinking about is teaching iconic songs from English speaking nations. I think for the US I'll probably use "This Land is Your Land." For Australia I'm going to use "Waltzing Matilda." But it's both more fun and more respectful to add a Polish song into an activity such as this. What is the iconic song for Poland, something every one knows, music that might be played on a movie or TV to indicate this is Poland or these people are from Poland. I'll be interested in your suggestion and also if there are any You Tube sites that have performances of this song. Thanks.

My request is truly serious. If Polish people wish to use the above song, that's their business, but I want something that is Polish and respectful at the same time.

AFAIK there are no relevant songs in English and anything in Polish will be problematic. Basically there are two warring factions inside most Polish people when it comes to discussing the country with outsiders: 1. a desire to show oneself as being superior to the rabble (manifested in insults toward the country and despair about its future) 2. defensive prickliness and oversensitivity (and a a rush to defend what hasn't been attacked yet) Also, IME discussing Polish music is a surprisingly stressful thing for Poles to do in front of each other. Everybody's afraid of saying something that could be branded as uncool by the others (and all Polish music is seriously uncool to some part of the public). Anyway, here's a fragment of my personal favorite song about Poland "na lewo most, na prawo most" (A bridge to the right, a bridge to the left) In a disco polo mood theres's 'Wszyscy Polacy to jedna rodzina' (All Poles (are one family)).

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I did mean a Polish song. I personally like the one that has Hey, Hey, Hey in the chorus. A song something like that which one learns in school or at family gatherings or bonfires. thanks.

Lori: I personally like the one that has Hey, Hey, Hey in the chorus. be more specific as obviously we're not coming up with anything and maybe that's because there just isn't one song like that. the only song like that, that everyone knows is Dąbrowski March.

Some suggestions: --Jan Pietrzak's "Żeby Polska..." --Marsz Polonii (traditional) -- Wszyscy Poalcy to jedna rodzina is OK for a bouncy kind of pop song -- Hej, hej, hej sokoły... I believe is a Ukrainian song but sung at nameday parties and campfires in Poland.
