Sorry to but it seems polish have soft spot for celtic. At least the ones over here do due to some polish players they had/have

Shouldnt support any of the two IMHO anyway. Support your local team or St. Mirren :)

I'm telling you, it is like that. Face it. You are the only Glasgow Rangers fan, not only in Poznan, but also in the whole of Poland and Europe for that matter.

:)

Hei Matt, you may not be the only Scottish person in Poznań...But don't know about football fans though ;) Let's support Lech Poznań, they're currently 3rd, after Wisła Kraków (1st) and Legia Warszawa (2nd)...Hehe
Both Celtic and Rangers have good teams...isn't one of the "problems" the religion (again) of the fans ? The Celtics are Catholic while the Rangers are Protestant...i may be totally wrong, dunno ;)

Now that’s hard to believe. As an old Polish joke goes: Who are the people from Poznań? They are Scots banished to the Islands for being too extravagant. So you see Scots and Poznaniacy are One and the Same.

Artur Boruc is from Legia Warszawa (Legia Warsaw). Here in Poznan we really dont like Legia (we hate Legia to be honest). So don't worry we aren't big Boruc fans ;]
We like Maciej Zurawski. He is from Poznan, but he doesn't play in Celtic already, so don't worry we have nothing against Rangers in Poznan :) Sorry for my English

Yes, Żurawski moved to Larissa. And scored in first match (1:0 against AEK Athens, and his team won). (proud :P) He was born in Poznań and started to playing football in Lech Poznań.
And, yes, don is right: We in Poznań hate Legia. I don`t like Boruc, but i think is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. But, i realy want to see good European football team in Poznań.

This is true.... to an extend, Celtic are a Scottish club with strong Irish roots, roots we are still proud of today, but always has been and always will be a club for all of the people.

Celtic have never ever been Exclusively a catholic club, in-fact some of our greatest servant's were Protestants, including the clubs greatest ledgend, the immortal Jock Stein and Celtic have signed players on their merits as a footballer from day 1 rather than their creed colour or religion..

Rangers on the other hand, had a policy of not signing catholics from their first days, a policy that was still in place till as late as 1990 when they signed the first high profile catholic in Mo Johnston

further more the have only had 1 catholic manager in their history and this came only 2 years ago with the signing of Frenchman Paul Le Guen.

To go back to an earlier point made, Celtic enjoy a great support in Ireland because the Club was formed by a Catholic brother (Walfrid) in 1888 to help the poor any needy in the east end of Glasgow, which was mostly populated by the immigrants from Ireland at that time. and now in 2008 most if not all Scottish catholics (only 700,000 in a country of 5million) have roots dating back to Ireland.

but i have lived in Dublin for a few years, and other teams like Manchester Utd and Liverpool enjoy a better "support" in football terms, people here though have an emotional tie to Celtic.

I'm listening to Rangers, who are about to beat St. Johnstone on the way to the scottish cup final along with the three other trophies they are going to or have won already, that will be four, not a bad season :):):)

We are the people

i like that in a person tornado, someone who come has total belief in their team!

although it is a pretty bold statement, given that we (Celtic) won the last OF game, and are currently at the top of the league!! ( games in hand arnt necessarily points in the bag) with a helluva lot of fitba to be played yet...

but ye had the balls tae open you mouth and say what you did, and i like that.

I just wonder will your mouth be open just as wide when they very words are being rammed back down your throat.....

say hello tae 3 in a row!!

Jock Stein was so immortal that Celtic would not give him a place on their board as he was a Protestant. They only offered him a junior position.

Rangers on the other hand, had a policy of not signing catholics from their first days, a policy that was still in place till as late as 1990 when they signed the first high profile catholic in Mo Johnston

Completely untrue. Rangers were never formed to be a Protestant only club. This did not come into effect until around the 1930's and even then Rangers were never Protestant only. There have been many Catholic players over the years. As you stated, Mo Johnston was the first HIGH PROFILE catholic and not the first catholic player.

further more the have only had 1 catholic manager in their history and this came only 2 years ago with the signing of Frenchman Paul Le Guen.

Which means what exactly? Given the very small percentage of the population of Scotland that are Catholic, I do not think it is unreasonable that Rangers have only had one Catholic manager.

Celtic may enjoy a great support in Republic of Ireland but they do not in Scotland. In fact, the majority of Scottish people are becoming more aware of how Celtic have been a disgrace to Scotland mainly due to their support of the IRA terrorist organisation and their cover up of a child sex abuse scandal. Jock Stein played a huge part in the cover up of this scandal at the time. The following link gives much more detail of Celtic's shameful past. http://ifyouknowtheirhistory.blogspot.com/

Kev,

You're a bawbag, keep your bile and denial in your own home, there is no place for your comments on this board. Use some Ranker board where the scum have adopted Nazi salutes.

Hail hail and 3 in a row.
