It's amazing that it is 20 years since the death of one of Poland's most influential footballers, Kazimierz Deyna.

In my opinion he was one of Poland's greatest footballers, who played a pivotal role in the success of the 1970's national team, leading them to Olympic glory and 3rd place in 1974 World Cup Finals.

Should have achieved much more at club level, but I believe he wasn't allowed to transfer abroad till it was too late - he finally went to Man City where he never showed his true potential.

I don't think he was fully appreciated by the Polish FA.

As a Manchester City fan I thought Kazimierz Deyna was a great player. From what I remember not much money was invloved in the transfer to City but more like training equipment and video recorders.

RIP Kazimierz Deyna

The holy trinity..............Lato, Deyna and Lubanski!

He was a truly great player but like the other Polish stars of the 70's, woefully under appreciated in the West even though the 74 squad was acknowledged by Cruyff and Beckenbauer as being the best at the time.

I actually saw Deyna play one match for Man City (I think it was against Man Utd) and he missed a penalty.
