Ludovic Obraniak in Poland national football team?

French Player of polish descent ( his grandfather was polish ) Ludovic Obraniak wants to play for Poland and president of Polish Football Association Grzegorz Lato wants him in national team. Ludovic Obraniak (born November 10, 1984 in Longeville-lès-Metz) is a French footballer of Polish descent currently playing as a midfielder for Ligue 1 side Lille OSC. He primarily plays as an attacking midfielder. Due to having Polish roots through his grandfather, Ludovic has been the subject of interest from the Poland national football team. He has already applied for citizenship in the countryand has declared that he would like to represent Poland. However, due to representing the under-21 squad, his decision to play for Poland has to be approved by FIFA. As mentioned, he has been capped with the France under-21 squad. However, despite his consistent play, he has yet to be called up the the senior squad.

Obraniak has made an appearance for the France under-21 squad, however, since it was not a match for points FIFA does not consider him permanently capped. This was later confirmed by FIFA's decision to remove the age limit on nationality switches of players who had only been capped at youth level
