Thats a great story Wroclaw Boy and much appreciated but no matter what some people here say N.Ireland fans do NOT start trouble..they are sincerely the friendliest fans you could meet.We go everywhere and are treated well.By fellow Europeans we have been voted best fans in europe and not as some sectarian bigot has said in Orange Lodges.Misinformed and deliberately trying to start problems. We dont need bigots in any walk of life.we need people whove moved on but some just stay around whatever little piece of history suits their argument.

the tale of the England vs Portugal of the World Cup 2006. I was in the Guiness bar in Wroclaw watching the game with a few Brits. As Brits do we were screaming for England,

Things must be very different in Wroclaw than in Warsaw. Here all the Scots, Irish and Welsh would be cheering on the Portuguese. Doesn't matter who England are playing, the Scots, Irish and Welsh will always be supporting the other team.

Which is why I'll be going to the pub for Scotland vs Macedonia but not for N. Ireland vs Poland.

That may be true of some WB but not fans of N.Ireland.Was reading your posts defending Britains role in the war against facism. We fought that war alongside Britain and many N.Ireland fans are direct descendants of those people.Their fathers and grandfathers foght alongside the Polish people in the Battle of Britain and the trenches of europe.

I looked at the name of this thread and thought 'ow a debate about the up and coming football match' i was looking forward to it, then when i got on it, all thats been talked about is 'surprise surprise' politics and expected trouble at the game and the reception Irish fans can expect.

THis is a game of football, can we not leave it at that?? If stupid Poles/Nothern Irish want to fight somewhere or call each other names, then do it as far away from the stadium as possible. Real football fans do not want idiots like these using football as an excuse to feed their hunger for violence!!!!

Does anybody actually want to discuss THE GAME?? lol

P.S. the game should be an oppertunity for Poles/Northern Irish to mix about before and after the game and have a good time, it should be about bringing people together not splitting them furhter and further apart.

If i remember last time the Nothern Irish won the game 3:2 at Windsor park, i know one of those goals was a Boruc mistake but still three points is three points.

I think the game will be a draw as neither side are in sparkling form of late, i'm also not sure about who is going to line up for Poland or the Irish, maybe i will be able to tell you more when i find out the line-ups.

As a N.Irishman I would take the draw now.I assure you there will be no trouble from our fans and although some of us were put off going by some irresponsible journalists,we will enjoy the occasion and Im sure enjoy the company of the Polish people.

that is the best way to look at it, if both sets of fans enter the match with this attitude, then there would be no problem at all, either before, during or after the game.

Being British i'm backing the Northern Irish, the more home nations we have in South Africa the better.

For Big Paddy to talk about pis**** on Poles is very insulting and as a N.I. fan he should be ashamed and retract that remark

If you read the post mate you will see that i said "i **** on the Polish Hooli's" (HOOLIGANS), not on "Poles" as you put it, i find that more than a bit insulting considering i have quite a few Polish friends.

It does look that way, that is of course Nothern Ireland can pull of the victory away in the Czech Republic and hope San Marino, lol can do them a favour :):)
