Hello All who are reading this. This Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday! Lets go Arizona! Does anyone who cares about American football have any plans for watching this? I will be watching and eating nice hotwings with some bluecheese dipping sauce and ofcourse beer.

Not boring to me. Got the beer icing down now. I'm betting Arizona to cover those 7 points. Warner's been there before.

Na, i prefer a true contact sport, i used to play alot of Rugby.

Is there any sport invented in America that actually involved contact?

I'll be rooting for Pittsburgh. I've always been an NFC guy, but I have an incredible soft spot for Pittsburgh. I've always had an incredible hatred of Dallas (except for the cowgirls), and as a kid, I remember quite a few Dallas / Pittsburgh Superbowls.

So in honor of the event, my fridge will be sticked with a multitude of Pennsylvania microbrews.

I'd love to see an American football player on a rugby pitch, taking a tackle from Jerry Collins of the All Blacks (NZ) or Chabal of France. Then they'd know power.

The Scots have had some tenacious tacklers over the years. Finlay Calder, John Jefferies and Scott Hastings spring to mind.

Hey people from the U.S.A, why don't you try to sell us the Super Bowl?.
Show us some top clips and give us a little bit of history to the clips explaining why it is so good.
(just a little history, please).
Most people on here are slagging it but probably like me they do not know why you like it but we all enjoy beer and any excuse to drink beer is a good one :)

Greatest NFL Hits

I know nothing about American football but i am always open for learning.

It does look like rugby with padding or am I completely wrong?.

I finally found it, Why north Americans LOVE American football.

Geez, why didn't you just tell us, we are a bit dumb, you know :)
Beer and watching fit birds doing this, yep sign me up.
Sure no wonder no body knows the rules, there are none or perhaps just enough confusing ones so women aren't interested and don't question???:)

I love the Super Bowl. It's a tremendous event for anyone who owns stock in advertising companies. Have you seen the price of the ad slots? Enough to feed a small nation for a year.

To be fair, I reckon American Football is rougher than Rugby.

You're telling me that it's not going to hurt when a 20st+ huge guy smashes you to the ground? If anything, the padding allows them to hit even harder than without - same idea as boxers wearing thick padded gloves actually allows them to do more damage.

You are saying, the thicker the padding the less harm it does?.

There is a very quick test you can do.
Hit your head off your cushion or bed mattress and then hit it off a brick wall.
Come back to us when you have the results.

Well it was actually a good game but Warner just threw an interception so it's 17 - 7 at the half. I didn't even know it was aired in Europe.

It's aired everywhere in the world ;) It's 2:15 AM here but who cares, that happens only once a year, hehe.
What a great run on the last TD! Harrison crossed all the field (and almost broke his neck in the endzone, lol).
But let's have a break and listen to Bruce Springsteen ;)

It doesn't work like that, because the brick wall/cushion feels no pain.

Take two equal guys - one with no armour and one with American Football armour on. Give you the same padding (or lack of) - it's going to hurt far more when the guy with the padding runs at you, because he has no fear of hurting himself when he smashes into you at top speed

The idea is simply that padding lets you hit harder :P

edit: can't find it anywhere on cable :( what channel is it being broadcasted on in Poland?

Austria's ORF had the conference finals, but it's nowhere to be seen tonight :(

What a game!! Pittsburgh finally won, but the Cardinals were good ;)
Roethlisberger made great passes (Warner too). But i don't know who is the MVP..

Maybe Santonio Holmes. Yeah, it was a damn good one. Lot's of action.

However, Pittsburgh didn't cover the point spread. So if you took the Cardinals in Vegas .. you won.

LOVE the NFL and Chicago BEARS!!! I wanted the Arizona to win because they wore the under dogs and it was their first time in it since they became Arizona Cardinals. Before that they wore Chicago Cardinals!! Well they had a good come back in the second half but Pittsburgh was just the better team and WON!! I think they wore plenty of good commercials especially in the first half like all the Doritos and beer commercials!! I hope to see Bears next season!! I think there are rules on nfl.com but watching the games you will learn!!

You could probably just wiki "american football rules". If you have a particular question just shoot us a question on here. ;- D
