The third Unite Against Racism conference – staged by UEFA, the Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) network and the international players' union FIFPro – has opened in the Polish capital Warsaw with calls from speakers for diversity in football to be celebrated and nurtured, and for efforts to be stepped up in the growing campaign to eliminate racism, intolerance and discrimination from the game. The problem is, while they might stamp out group racism they can't stamp out individual racism. I'm a Hibs fan here and while at a game last year at Easter Road a Hibs fan, infact season ticket holder, gave Yves Ma-Kalambay some real foul-mouthed stuff. They only way that kind of indiviual racism gets dealt with is if others fans around him report him.
You can't get rid of individual racism, at least I feel sadly it's nigh on impossible.
