He just took a beating! He looked big and slow just getting into the ring! Money might make you happy for a while but it wont help save your life if you keep take beatings like that. His days have been and gone. Walk away.

I dunno if he got paid to lose but you never know. He was atrocious and age isn't always a defence in boxing. Look at Holyfield and Foreman, both pretty decent when older.

It was nice of Golota to take a big pay check and in the process give Adameks career a leg up but it was not a good night for Polish boxing.

Adamek seems to be getting pointed in the wrong direction by his management team. He's a bit on the small side for a heavywight without the skills to compensate for his slight frame.

Maybe chasing the big bucks of the heavyweight division isn't such a good idea.

Hes 41, which is no spring chicken, but with modern training regiemes he should definately have been in better shape. His lack of stamina indicates that he didn't put the hours in, in the gym beforehand. Very poor.

Boxing is a great sport but is being ruined by business.
Better to support local amateurs.

When you look at the facts:

David Tua (176cm - 5' 9.25)
Rocky Marciano (180cm - 5' 11)
Mike Tyson (182cm - 5' 11.5)
Evander Holyfield (185cm - 6' 1)
John Ruiz (188cm - 6' 2)
Tomasz Adamek (188cm - 6' 2)
Hasim Rahman (1.89 - 6 ' 2.5)
George Foreman (1.92cm - 6' 3.5)

without the skills

Thats the difference - he hasnt got the handspeed of Tyson, the strength of Marciano, the versatility of Holyfield etc etc.

Golota didnt test him but this fight didnt make Adamek look good.

You seem to repeat the story of wishful thinkers related to Don King affilates (whom Adamek dumped due to unfair terms and bossy treatment ;). But it's a good sign, there are a lot of nay-sayers who try to belittle Kubica too ;). I've been watching last few of Golota's fights and yesterday he was very well prepared for the fight.

I totally disagree; the aforementioned benefited from the skill level (or lack thereof) their competition.

I don't think so... If he was paid, It wouldn't look so cartoonish... they would try hard to make It look more serious. Andew is just an old, slow, fat guy, who shouldn't have been allowed to step into the ring since at least 5 years.

He has not much of a choice... he's too heavy for Light heavyweight and Cruiserweight is hardly popular.

Adamek looked scared to batter him in the first 3/4 rounds, even though it was obvious from the first few seconds that Golota's only hope was to hit a massive hook. If he can't capitalise on an obviously unfit, useless, old Golota - what hope does he have against true heavyweights?

The fact that Adamek is even being talked about as a heavyweight contender shows the utter lack in depth in that division.

But look at what he was doing to Bowe - he inexplicably kept nailing him in the balls, yet he was destroying him in both fights. Lewis did make him look stupid - but Golota may very well have been screwed up by his doctor.

He certainly wasn't a bad boxer in his prime (he did win a bronze at the Olympics!) - but I think his overwhelming problem was always his heart. But he did beat Chris "chump" Byrd and Ruiz, only for the judges to rule otherwise. I think anyone that follows boxing can say that Golota should've held a world championship at one point - but he's just too old now and doesn't appear to be interested.

Adamek vs. Klitscho. That's the fight I want to see. Since Arreola could not finish the job, Adamek has the chance to do so.

A wee bit off topic but - Valuev vs Haye, Saturday night.
Should be interesting, not least because of the 7stone weight difference.
