Are you being ironical by any chance ? ;))

Poland should qualify...the only "danger" will be, of course, the Czech Republic.
Slovakia is not so bad either...

France with the Faroe Islands again...Lithuania again...and Romania again !! :P

I'm Sure England will qualify as well as the Germans, i think they both have reasonable groups that they can qualify from. I would be suprised if neither managed to qualify to be honest.

It's quite too early for the fans, let us enjoy the Euro2008, even without Poland's participation (Forza Italia!), but I agree that the staff should start thinking about the World Cup soon.

Well, sh*t happens, I remember one match from the 90's when Poland won 1-0 against San Marino (or Cyprus, which was very weak back then) Jan Furtok scored the only goal with the "hand of God" (football fans should be familiar with this expression).
In the qualifying mathces to World Cup 2006 Portugal won against Liechtenstein 7-0 (at home) and then they tied at 2-2.
Czechs lost to Malta in this millenium.

This means trips to Minsk, Kiev, Zagreb and Astana. Not good for the impoverished Brits methinks. I wonder if the Andorra game is in the skiing season?

didn't they just beat Barbados 8-0 ??

CONCACAF Groups :- they have already played 2 stages, and at the third stage there are three groups of 4 teams in each group.

Group 1 : Antigua & Barbuda or Cuba , Barbados or USA , Bermuda or Trinidad &
Tobago , Guatemala or St Lucia.

Group 2 : Bahamas or Jamaica , Belize or Mexico , Canada or St Vincent & The
Grenadines , Honduras or Puerto Rico.

Group 3 : Costa Rica or Grenada , Dutch Antilles or Haiti , El Salvador or Panama ,
Guyana or Surinam.

Group winners and runners-up will advance to the next stage; the six countries will play in a single round robin group. The top three will qualify for the finals. The fourth-placed country will meet the fifth-placed South American country in a two-leg tie for a place in the finals ! Complicated eh ...?

I'll be following the US team closely as there are a few Fulham players or ex-players in the US squad.
Has McBride retired from the national team ? I heard that Clint Dempsey scored in the win over Barbados.

Um, yeah. Who isn't optimistic towards their team? Why would you die laughing when all I said was that I hope they prove to be a strong team.

BTW How did England do in the Euro 2008? ;)

It was the first tournament in decades that we remained undefeated in the group stages LOL

Such a huge people with so many citizens with ties to the "old" continent - it's just a question of time when the US will become a force to be reckoned with in international football, their women already are.
And if that time comes they will show us...they have all the ingredients needed!

(Only thing missing is a nation wide "fever" but this will undoubtly come with the first real great successes)

We need a fight song :) I thing there may be one, but we have a very quiet crowd. U-S-A U-S-A gets pertty boring.

And yes, out womens team is fantastic. I think they just beat Brazil.

I don't know BB.. we tied Argentina in a friendly not long ago. Who knows? Women only play 16 countries I think. Men are still 2nd tier team for the most part. Cherundulo is okay though.

Right now it's time to watch Ballack and the boys maybe. Lot's of great action coming.

Let's lobby to move the USA team into the European conference!

Now THAT would be fun!
(and the other teams would actually have stadiums to play at)

:)

Well, it is hardly a topic for EC interest but at least people are decent enough to switch their chats into a Topic more hopeful for Polska! I suppose I have to commend you all for that!

Return to the main theme, Poland had better manage to improve the national leagues in 2 years time (too short for substantial change) or else they will suffer another shameful World cup campaign just like the last (the painful result of building house from the roof!) Seeing the Polish football team beaten by the Czechs anonymously during the qualification is actually more enjoyable than watching them playing amateur rugby during a universally coveraged event like the WC!
