Wizzair do'nt fly to Cracow , you fly to Katowice airport then catch a bus there onto Cracow . A couple on my last flight to Kato thought they were flying direct to Cracow where friends were waiting for them .

Cheers.

A certain Irish budget airline flys there from Liverpool, Ema and soon from Leeds Bradford.

I think that was why he was asking, because it looks like Wizzair must have cottoned on to Ryanair's wheeze of claiming to fly "to" certain cities, while in fact using an airport 100km away ;)

A pokey little place, on my last trip it gave me great pleasure to be ushered past the lengthy queues for security to the comfort of the executive lounge

and from! Stansted is classed as a London airport, it aint London. Still the Stansted express train is pretty handy, central London for £15 at 45 minutes - not bad.

Balice is surprisingly close to Krakow though, plenty of transport options.

That seems high, I would have thought around 40 PLN to be normal. Ive driven to the Rynek from balice in around 15 minutes.

70PLN sounds about right - the taxi rate per km jumps up once you get outside Krakow itself, so half the cost is travelling the first 5km and the other half the remaining 10km (obviously approx. distances!)

You also find that taxi drivers like to go the long way around the outskirts of the city to 'avoid traffic' but travel further at the higher rate..
