Ukraine / Poland border travel

Recharging visa by going to Ukraine. I spoke with someone who has done this. So could a person do this if their visa is 2 months expired? What exactly happens at the border crossing?

You can't do it anymore. Now that Poland is in the Schengen area, you can not 'recharge' a visa by going out of Poland and getting another 90 day visa on the way back in.

To add to this, you're allowed 90 days out of 180. It's not always a guarantee that you'll be picked up on this - but there are some ways round this.

In my humble opinion - the best bet would be to go to the UK. It's highly unlikely that there will be any exit checks if you go overland/sea - the French just don't care enough, especially in Calais. I'm not certain, but I suspect that the Dutch don't bother either on the Hoek van Holland/Harwich crossing.

Once you get into the UK on a 90 day stamp, you should be able to return to the US without any problems. Then, because of the lack of exit checks from Schengen - you could 'accidentally' deface the stamp from the UK with water, so that the date isn't visible on the entry stamp. Then you can return to Schengen for another 90 days without fear - and this time, get legal ;) If they do ask, all you have to do is tell them that you returned via the UK or Ireland and there'll be no way of checking.

But I urge you to sort the situation out as a matter of urgency, and see an immigration expert as quickly as possible. If you get stopped by the border guards (and they do patrol randomly inland since Schengen came in!) and it's discovered that you've overstayed, deportation/ban from Schengen will surely follow.

As for checks on the Ukraine border - the Polish exit checks may pick you up, but you'd almost certainly be picked up on the return into Poland for having overstayed if there was a pair of entry and exit stamps.

The only stamp I have is from Germany. I had a layover in Germany on the way to Warsaw, In Germany they scanned and stamped my passport. When I arrived to Warsaw, there was no one checking in anyone. But Germany is part of Schengen.. so yeah.. I will talk to some someone on this, and or get a lawyer. I'm debating if I should bother taking the school I worked for that refused to give me a work permit to a court.

I'm going for a trip to Lwow in a couple of weeks, and need some answers to some questions:)

Has anyone ever been, what was your experience of the city?
Is it costly, i mean how much would i need to take for a nightout, or tours?(though i prefer to look around myself).
Has anyone got any contacts in the City i could use?
Going through the border, is it a long and boring experience?
Any other info that i need to know of?

A great time to arrive is on the weekend because vehicle traffic is totally shut down in the central city, and everyone is out enjoying the weekend. I love Saturday afternoon in L'viv. There were countless wedding parties and many, many people out walking, men playing chess, it was amazing.

Went six months ago by car. Lovely city, beautiful architecture, good and cheap opera house. Stayed 2 nights at Leopolis, very nice but quite expensive. Long wait at the border (3, 5 hours each way!). Overall prices are a bit cheaper than Poland (good exchanges rates at Kantors in the city)

I've been looking at going for some time and did a bit of research, as suggested it is cheaper (considerably so) than Poland and very pretty.

I went over the border on a Harley motorcycle , they were obviously bike fans , i got ushered to the front of the que , got my stuff stamped , and away i went....very quick and painless.....The bloody roads are terrible tho...
