mvefa: we are dutch but with latinamerican roots, is there any racial problem in Poland what we should be aware of?
In Warsaw and Krakow you should have no problems. But don't go out to the suburbs and make sure you take taxis late at night rather than night buses.
mvefa: we are also gay, is that also an issue?
It most probably won't be in Warsaw or Krakow. But you probably don't want to be holding hands or kissing in public.
mvefa: who can give us some tips?
I don't know about Krakow's gay venues but in Warsaw Lodi Dodi (on Wilcza street) is a superb gay bar. Rasko (on Burakowska) is insane on the right night (I'm not sure if they still have the stripping transvestite singer on Thursday nights or not) and pretty good every night. Galeria (in the basement of Hala Mirowska on Jana Pawla) can be rammed with people going nuts on both dancefloors or it can be completely empty, I can't work out which nights will be what. Warsaw's most famous gay club, Utopia, is well worth avoiding. It is commonly referred to as the "Cretin's Choice" and is packed with mincing hairdressers and their pouting boytoys, along with various people who think that being gay is a fashion statement.
