Gdansk/Sopot question - reasonably priced accommodation near beach and city?

Czescz, Going to Gdansk in late October/early November. I reckoned that was a good time to go because most of the tourists (not to say that I'm not one!) would be gone by that stage. I'll be taking my daughter (8) so it'd be nice if we could see some beach (rain's ok, because we're from Ireland, where it rains all the time), but I'd like to be somewhere that I'm never too far from a Lech or a Tyskie. Can anyone suggest somewhere reasonably priced that'll keep us close to the beach but not too far from the real city. Dziękuje Jan
