Where would be good for this long weekend in Poland?

Not much work next week. Considering taking a little break - Krakow I am assuming will be full of Brits, and Zakopane/Mazury etc plain full. Where else would be nice and also preferably inexpensive for a lone female traveller?

Anywhere thats not raining would be nice....its been damp and dismal round my area for a few days now , of course i am getting the blame for this having recently returned from the UK , and bringing English weather back with me.....Maybe the Baltic coast would be nice for you to visit , mind you its a bit far from your place down in Kracow..

Badly worded post, I am in Warsaw not Krakow (was thinking I should see Krakow though, my dad went to Uni there just before WWII). Useful suggestions for that weekend!

Was thinking of Sopot, Wildrover, but assumed that will be busy too (I also get accused of bringing UK weather to Poland :) )

Two suggestions :

1. Stay in Warsaw ... the city clears out & as a result the place becomes so much quieter & laidback.
2. Terminal 2 at Okecie ... get out of the country for a few days ( as travelling around Poland on any bank holiday is an absolute nightmare ) .

LOL Magdelena, you actually have in reverse order my preferences and the correct order what I think will probably happen. Warsaw sure is laid back on holidays, way too laid back in fact :)

The first and only choice as far as I'm concerned. My favourite time of year in Warsaw is long weekends in the summer.

I can agree with Harry. I will even be able to find a place to sit outside my pub in Nowe Miasto :)

Which one is that? I'll probably be in the new town at some point over the long weekend.

You can always go to Beskidy or Bieszczady for some mountain hiking, check out few mountain hiking trails, and have a few days journey from one mountain lodge to another. A day spent over the map checking the trails, one train ticket and a backpack, not much..
