Holiday Advice - Zakopane or Similar

Hi

I'm looking for some holiday advice. I'm UK-based travelling to Poland for 2 weeks with my wife, flying to Krakow - first 2 weeks in August. For the 2nd week we plan to visit and stay with friends in Krakow and Wroc³aw. So we have about 5 days to kill. I was thinking staying in and around Zakopane, doing some walking, cycling, visiting lakes, viewing wildlife or similar. We'd prefer to stay in a lodge or similar, but a good hotel is cool also. I'd welcome any recommendations for where to stay and any suggestion on cool things to do.

thanks - Chris

Give considersation to the Hotel Wanta. It has a nice location, the rooms are comfortable, the food is good. It is place where Polish people will stay. Some staff speak a bit of English, but will always provide you with the very best service.

dude, book now as august is one of the busiest (and literally the first two weeks being THE busiest) times you could go to the mountains.

Take this into consideration while being there - both re planning, wandering around and getting from one place to another - it's gonna be really, really crowded.

cheers and have a good, good time!
