Hello,

My parents have just ordered plane tickets to Poland using wizzair but they say that on their contact address there has been a mistake, with the name. the reservation names are all correct, will this effect anything? the mistake is just a smimple"a" at the end. I said that they should contact the airline but they said that it will be fine, can someone help me here please?

If the name on your confirmation (the one you print off - i.e. booking confirmation) is correct and it corresponds with the spelling on your passport, then you are fine. If they do not match, contact wizzair by phone and ask them to change it - they shouldn't charge for this as it is not an "official" name change, just a simple modification. It is not worth turning up at the airport only to be turned away. That's what I would do anyway.

In my experiences with wizzair and easyjet, when you book in at the airport they are just interested in the booking number. If the name on the passport is exactly the same as the one associated with the number then all is well. If a mistake was made and it is not the same as the passport then it will have to be changed at great cost to the traveller.

If it is only the address where you live then it is not a problem, but to put their mind at rest, it would not hurt to contact their customer services and ask. There should be no charge to change your address.

edit ...shelley beat me to it.

In general, I agree with Shelley & Vincent. I would add that discrepencies with names is a common problem at check-in.

If at all possible, contact reservations sooner not later. If this is not possible take additional forms of ID such as bank statements/creditcard statements - especially useful if they show the booking transaction. Then go directly to the customer services desk before checking-in, they can amend the reservation details prior to check-in.

No, as long as the booking references are okay, the names and addresses correspond with documents you have, then all is well :)

Hope that your parents have a lovely holdiday..
