I live in Prague.

Just came back from Krakow.

In my opinion, the level of service is much higher in Krakow than Prague.

It is an important topic.

Because if you are treated poorly, why go?

I was only there for five days and struggled too much with accommodation and so had to leave early.

What really was different in Prague than Krakow was that the Polish Ladies that I met in Krakow are much friendlier, professional, and hard working than Czech Girls in Prague and so are much more suitable for customer facing jobs.

Probably more suitable for all jobs.

Most Czech Girls in Prague are too socially retarded, hostile, and lazy to be exposed to the public. The ego is too big. The ability is too small.

The best service was from these ladies.
Malgorzata at Boogie Piano.
Ivanka at Tutti Frutti Hostel.
Lydia at Piano Rouge.
Anna at City Hostel.

The guys were friendly and polite also.

I also made friends with some of the bouncers at the discos.
They were scary looking but Ok guys and it was nice that they wanted to be my friend!

But good service was to be found almost everywhere.
The gas station, the taxi, the Polish Restaurants.

In fact the service was so good sometimes I was almost a little embarrassed.

I only had three bad interactions out of around 30.
In Prague it would have been around 15 bad interactions.

Even the old Polish Ladies at the train station were friendly.

And it was nice to see the nuns walking through the streets.
We don't have so many nuns in Prague (get it?).

Krakow has a variety of discos.
More than Prague.
Everything from barbie doll style clubs to local live music (lizard king).

Krakow is cleaner in the city center than Prague.
Less spray paint on the buildings and less dog ****.

The Auschwitz Tour is something everyone in the world should take.
Our guide was excellent.

But I think Prague has more and better brothels than Krakow!

Tips:
Verify any claims of wireless access by bringing your computer.
Ask to see the room first at all hostels.

I should have moved to Krakow.
Viva Krakow!

Brno is classy, I liked it there. The big city mentality is just that, worth avoiding.

southern: I don't phantasize nuns.

Ah southern, good to hear from you!

I like nuns.
On my way to the train station I saw two cute ones.
One flashed me a very friendly smile.
What a great way to end the trip.

I only spoke with Polish Girls when I had to do business or had to ask questions.
And they were very friendly and capable.

I did not try to speak with any Krakow Girls outside of any necessary business functions so I can't really offer any comparison with Czech Girls except in the workplace.

But in the tourist workplace the Polish Girls easily beat the Czech Girls for capability and friendliness.

And I even speak Czech!

I think Prague is better for the stag parties and men's groups and Krakow is better for families, couples, and people looking for a more quiet time and a very clean environment.

One thing that was disturbing was the large number of homeless people in Krakow.

Does anyone know if there a church shelter in Krakow like Caritas or Armada Spasy sponsors in Prague?

Try to speak to them outside the business functions and you will see the difference.

I believe you Southern.
That is why I did not want to ruin the trip with any extra conversations.
I focused on the beauty of the City and the history.
And Krakow was amazing.

I know things are changing in Poland for family life and social structure and the changes are for the worse long-term.
I can see where the television, movies, greed, and unrealistic expectations are changing things for the worse

for the man, family, and eventually the woman and children.
I don't like to see it happening in a nice country like Poland.
So I ignored it.

But it is nice to go to a place where the people are helpful in their job.
It is so hard to find in Prague without getting bad attitude.

This made me chuckle. Poles are generally far from 'helpful'

Oh and those girls who smiled at you? As soon as you leave they are making fun of you and talking about how easy it was to scam a bigger tip.

Filios1: You disturb me greatly.

Translation: You disturb yourself or you are disturbed.
Cure: none.

tj123: This made me chuckle. Poles are generally far from 'helpful'

Very helpful.
Good tips of where to eat, dance, tour, etc.
I hardly ever get this kind of treatment in Prague.

tj123: Oh and those girls who smiled at you? As soon as you leave they are making fun of you and talking about how easy it was to scam a bigger tip.

They were nuns and they didn't get a tip.

Polish women do not differ from czech women apart that they tend to become more trouble.Czech women are way more reasonable and stable and they do not cause damage to you.

Prague Vs Krakow

Can't say I've had the pleasure of visiting either of these cities, as of yet. However, my family members prefer Krakow.

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

Update on this:

I am now trying to find new accommodation in Prague.
I am looking for something very simple.
Month to month room.
You would not believe the low-level of knowledge and service I am dealing with at hostels and pensions.
I only have the patience for around 5 calls per day because it is so frustrating to deal with these morons.
I encourage everyone to do a simple test.
Make five to ten phone calls to hostels in each city - Krakow and Prague.
Compare the level of service you get on the phone.
Then decide which city to visit.
I think the difference will be clear.
Social Retardation has no place in the service sector.
Spend your money in Krakow.
Unless you are looking for hookers, then come to Prague.

Viva Krakow!

time means: If Prague is so bad why not leave?

I am trying.
Hence looking for short-term accommodation.

If you don't deal with lots of locals and have expat friends, Prague can be good.
But when you have to deal with locals, especially Czech Girls, it is really frustrating.

In any other country these girls would not be employed.
No one would hire them except at an escort agency.

Thank you.

Prague is a great place to live for a while or if you are very happy being a bachelor.

If you have any questions at all, I have lived here for four years. I speak Czech and know the city pretty well and would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
