I have never been to Poland. What are some cities and towns that are must see? I enjoy walking, the outdoors, musuems, history, trying different types of food and learning foreign languages.

Please note the rules about writing good thread titles.

Thank you.

I was actually looking at Lonely Planet travel guide and information.

Being frankly, it depends what you're exactly looking for. What kind of outdoor areas, and museums.

If you enjoy walking, nature, and the beautiful outdoors, then my area (30 km south of Tarnow, near Zakliczyn) in the Carpathian Foothills is the perfect place. I don't mean to advertise, but I do run an informal, inexpensive guest house with excellent transportation links to Tarnow, Krakow, and Nowy Sacz.

I don't know so much about the south of the country(although i'm planning to get further south than Warsaw some day!) but Gdansk and the surrounding area has loads of stuff for historians:

Mariacka church, Westerplatte, Oliwa Cathedral, Maritime Museum, Malbork castle etc etc.

There are also plenty of nice places to go walking where you won't get savaged by mosquitoes!!!
