OK I know this could vary a lot, but on average how much money per day do you need to eat and drink well in tourist areas. I have asked my bf, but he doesnt know as he always eats at his families place.

You can have a nice meal with a beer in a reasonal place for about £10- if you put aside £50 per day, that should be ample for going out and eating...lunch dinner and a few drinki poohs in the evening..have a mooch over to the Jewish district there are some fab places to eat and its a nicer atmosphere imho, less chance of having some fat fuking loud scouser sat next to you when you're trying to relax..

Im saying £50 but you could spend more since the rate has dropped since last feb when I was there...but if you're there and the sun is shining its going to be mainly salads for lunch so not that expensive to be honest.

Ok thanks that is helpful. I will definitely want to drink beer, vodka and have nice food so I just wanted to get some idea. Even though I am going with a Polish guy, he doesnt have a clue! Thanks for that apartment tip Shelley, I am going to stay there. Anyone any ideas how much it costs to hire ski gear per day in Zakopane?

Last time I was there (2 years ago now) we paid between 35 and 50 ZL for skis, poles and boots a day depending on the quality of the skis. This was from an obvious location at the bottom of a lift. We were told that if you looked down the side streets you could get a better deal but we didn't investigate further.

what about the protective clothes.. do you have to take them with you? I have never been skiing in my life, well unless you count one time in Norway when I was so bad I came back down on the lift! I only want to try it for one day so dont want to go and buy all those puffy waterproof clothes you need. Im not sure you can do it in jeans can you.

All I can do is recount what I was told about hiring ski clothes since I've got all mine. Apparently it was not easy to find clothes rental. That is not to say that you cannot find them but not as easily as in an Alpine resort for example. Maybe somebody else will help you out. There are a couple of reasonable web sites on Zakopane snowsports.

You could probably pick up some semi-waterproof type bottoms pretty cheap )(cheap enough to chuck) just take some longjohn kinda thing for underneath and a fleece should be okay at this time of year. To be honest I dont envisage there being much snow.

Costs in Poland for Vacation

Hi,

I will be staying for approx 1 week in Bydgoszcz in April of this year. I am looking at taking 1000PLN spending money.

Will this be sufficient if I want to see a few sights, eat out at a few places etc?

Thanks

Hahahahaha, Cheers. I'm going to see a friend of mine over there. 1000PLN is only £200, so cheap for a holiday really!

Thanks!
