Visiting Warsaw, need some advice.

Hi!

Im visiting Warsaw for a few days including new years night so Im interested about the places that are worth checking out there. Im generally looking to see some good architecture, museums and parks. Whats the best place to stay, Im on a budget so Im looking for some cheap place, like hostel or apartment. What would be the best way to spend new year? Also is the zoo in Warsaw worth a visit in winter?
