Would ESOL help me find work in Poland? Or maybe CELTA is better?

i have a ESOL qualification would that help me find work in poland? which i am really interested in. or would a CELTA qualification be more suitable?

an esol qualification will tell people you can speak english to a certain level so might not really be a help in poland

a tesol qualification, or the celta, will stand you in much better stead for finding work, as and english teacher

but what im wondering david is that having an esol qualification sort of suggests that youre not a native speaker, which might hinder you when looking for teaching work unless you are polish

what is the esol qualification you have?

can a native english speaker find a teaching job in Poland without a bachelors degree? or would a tesol certificate be enough?

Hi,
I have a celta and a degree in all my time of teachin no one has asked to see my degree but are far more intersted in the CELTA qualification.
You can find work without it (CELTA) ie callan schools which is just repetitive talking and some of my friends don't have it but we halped get their foot in the door.
If you plan to teach longterm then a CELTA is definitely worth getting...I highly recommend International House Krakow...1 it's a highly established and recognised school...2. it's cheaper to take it their than anywhere else i know...both course fees/accomodation and your own living allowances.

If you go to through tesol they'll help with job placement, but I think it might only be in bigger cities (warsaw & krakow) that they will place you.

People who want to teach in any sort of a public school in Poland are required to have at least bachelors degree in teaching. If you are a native English speaker, then it will be very easy for you to find work in any kind of school, and even at universities at some English Language Courses, where you can earn really good money. You can also check private evening schools etc. And I'm not only talking about Warsaw or Krakow, but actually anywhere in Poland because there are lots of schools that hire native speakers all over the country there. Contact any university or language school in Poland and I'm sure you'll get some responses.

Both qualifications wont do much in Poland, maybe get you to the interview point. The market is flooded by these qualifications, therefore experience is only thing that will guarantee jobs in teaching, or knowing someone who can get you in the door.

That's true enough. They are 2 a penny. I don't regret doing my CELTA but my 2 years exp in Japan stood me in better stead. That's where I picked up how to teach the tenses well
