Can you play football?

Wisła Kraków needs a central defender... badly.

I dont like the outfits they wear in footie, if they played in stillies and an elegant frock I might have given it a second thought ;0)

My education isn't anything to brag about actually. I never liked school and I got into retail here in Canada. I manage/part own a sporting goods store. I have a good head on my shoulder but that means nothing on a resume.

Well, in that case there's no reason why you couldn't do the same in Poland,
especially that, as you said, you speak fluent Polish. Actually, there's not
that many sporting good stores in my area (central Pomerania, Słupsk-Ustka),
so you might try to open one here!

Hello Shelly16,

I can't help you, I live at the other side of the country and it is a big country.
You have been here before and left are you really sure you want to come back?.
Have you learnt any Polish, it helps a lot.
shelly16   Jul 27, 09, 17:01 /  #
well i have learnt and i am still learning.
yes i like poland:) and i am going to give it a go.
how are you anyway??

Get real, moving to Poland from any other European country and having to humiliate yourself by acting like a Callan School clown is not really the best idea. Unfortunately any chance of getting a real job is pretty much ZERO unless your own company abroad sends you there on a contract!

Not really, I know lots of people who have been offered very highly paid positions within companies without knowing the language. I was offered a very good position last year with a tempting package.

Its just knowing where to look,

As for the Callan method, well thats just a joke really,......

well thats a chance people have to take in life

These questions come up again and again. Some say yes you can get a job in English in Poland and some say it's impossible but nobody mentions where, how and for those that work in English jobs never mention which company. It's either people are jelous and don't want anybody to know or it's bunch of BS when people say that yes there is work with English only position.

Talking from experience it's difficult but not impossible. I've just landed a very good job (by polish standards). I work in IT and I found the job not on the IT boards like jobserve and monster, but on praca.pl. There are so many good jobs (for english speakers in IT) that appear on the Polish job sites (mentioned in numerous other posts) that just don't appear on Monster and Jobserve and the like.

Also, it took me 6 months of looking to find 5 jobs worth applying for to then get offered an interview for 2 jobs and be offered 1. So persistence is also the key.

Good luck, and really it can be done!

HammerSandwich - I'm thinking of relocating from the USA to PL due to "Wifey issues" - I'm an IT professional here in the states (work for a major lawfirm) and currently make about 100k a year; moreover, i know in PL i wont make such money but to have an idea, can you provide a glimpse of your offer was. Of course if you dont mind...

Do they have an office in Poland? If so, you might want to ask about a transfer. Either that or just email one of the IT people there and ask if he fancies a job-swap for one year.

I sensed some sort of sarcasm when you stated the "Job-swap" quote there.

What's wrong with doing a job swap? It'd probably be easier to do that than get recruited here for the same post you now have.

Hi everyone,

I Moved from Paris to Katowice (Sosnowiec) to live with my girlfriend, and also to learn Polish language.
Now I'm looking for any job, any opportunities to earn some money. However, being a french native speaker, I was wondering if any of you knew about some language school which could be interested by my skills.
In France I was studying history, and I also had 1 semester abroad ( sweden). I need one last year to compleat my BA degree, what I will do in poland.

If you have any information, I would be glade to read you right here.

dziekuje bardzo,

Guillaume.

and I'm currently looking for a software engineer (maybe >1) - C++ background (or C at a pinch), ability to work in a team, multi-threading/embedded experience welcome but not essential. the post is full-time and in Gdansk. if anyone is interested, please pm me.

(the "ability to communicate" is a must -- "in English" as the extension)
