Be warey the ik rates for PL translations over the last 10yrs or so have nose dived, from about £100 per 1000 words to about £50-60 1000words, and each word is only counted once! It's international cut throat business nowadays, even some very good online translations tools have taken over some of the business that used to be out there. Really teaching is the key and I think the only way forward unless you have super qualifications, also yrs back we uk boys needed the work permit from urzad pracy, very tricky to get back then.. check out the embassy sites, look at all uk companies in pl an apply yourself well!!!

'm teaching in Siedlce, and for my conversation classes i also get about 50zl an hour. I think its pretty much standard. Anyone got any idea about what kind of employment you can get in the tourism industry (i've got a bachelors degree in tourism management) and tonnes of experience in all sectors, but i dont speak polish :-(

Oh, i've completed 2 teaching courses, one a TFEL course, and the other a business english course. Haven't had an opportunity to use the business english course yet, but the TEFL course has stood me in good stead so far. It made it much easier to find a job, and i've had another offer too, but haven't decided yet. (even though i had no experience).

Hi everyone:

Im from the US..I was born and raised here, however I speak fluent Polish (can read, write, and speak). My english is obviously very fluent, and I am very skilled in writing and proof reading. Pretty much all my family is located in PL and Im just wondering if I ever want to move there in the future, will I have a good chance of getting a job in the translation field. My ulimate goal is to be a nurse, but I havent seen any schools in Poland that focus on that?

Thanks all!

My ulimate goal is to be a nurse, but I havent seen any schools in Poland that focus on that?

It is 'coz nursing isn't a well profitable profession in Poland yet.
As a result they are not widely advertised.
You could found some of them in Poland if you were here (in Poland ) be sure.

Hi all,

Recently I met an incredible polish girl and we are now planning to live together in Poland. I'm Portuguese and I will complete a Master degree in Computer Engineering in July 2008.

I'm also looking for a job, but I don't speak polish yet (I only know how to greet someone and numbers etc..). I really don't care which city in Poland I will be, as long as the job is good enough to live comfortably (as in, bed, shower, clothes and food :)

I've been answering to all job offers in polish web sites that I could find, without any luck... Do you have any suggestion to aid me in the job searching process?

Hey all,

I'm Chinese, speak fluent Chinese & English, hold bachelor degree in Business Administration. Have been working in Gdynia, Poland for 1 year in sales and management consulting in 2 local Polish companies.

My current contract will finish end of this month, and I'm looking for a new job in administrative work in a company.

I don't speak Polish, but I hold a residence permit & work permit for Poland valid from July 1, 2008 to July1, 2009.

Is there any chance I can get an OK job? Really worried...

Cheers,
Sara

Polish way of life? you mean that people in Poland dont eat fish and chips? or you meant that you are not used to skinny and pretty girls.

maybe you meant that Polish people are not as cheap as most of the Brits are. Especially those from Scotland.....
last but not least maybe you are not used to the hospitality which by the way is so different from British (half a glass of whisky for entire night)

Hi Sara,

I was just reading though the post and notice yours. I see you have a very professional job that doesn't deal with teaching. My question is how did you land that job? Was it through contacts, websites, or just pure luck :) .

So far my hopes are pretty low in actually finding work in Poland.

Hi im planning on moving to back to poland with my son and my italian husband from the US. I woul dhave to move to Jelenia Gora, becuase of living situations, i have a place to stay for free, Umm my biggest question is how easy can i find a job there, i wouldnt mind teaching if i had to, but i was more looking into going into a company that would need my strong legal administrative background and the fact that i am fluent in both languages. I know it will be hard for my husband since he does not know a word in polish, but i have read that he might be able to work just knowing english with good pay. I have been reading a lot lately, i just need to know if it is possible to make good money there and have a ok life. PLEASE help.

Hello everyone,

I was on exchange for 6 months and I met my girlfriend (who is Polish) in Europe. She has now returned to Poland and I want to return at the end of the year to live and work in Poland for at least one years time. At the end of this year I will have a bachelor's degree.

I am a native speaker of English and have lived in Australia my entire life. I know around about 70 Polish words from my one month spent in the country :) It seems to me that teaching english is my only job option, however I am not so interested in a job like this. Obviously if I cannot find anything else then I would like to try it.

Alternatively I will be continuing my education and will try to study at the university near Bielsko.

I am looking for a job in the town of Bielsko-Biala or in the nearby vicinity.

You can contact me at this email address: pissedpanda@gmail

Any advice or job offers would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Jesse.
