Self employed in Poland

Are there any restrictions, when I as British citizen register in poland as self employed and plan to work from time to time over the border. Mainly in Germany.
How will this efect VAT isues?
Does anyone have experience with vehicle imports from Germany. I currently have three vehicles registered and consider bringing them over, if its worth the hastle!
