WHAT AREAS IN LONDON ARE POPULAR FOR POLISH PEOPLE TO LIVE IN?

I know there is Ealing, Acton and Dalston areas.. is there any other areas that are popular for polish to live in London?

Polish communities are springing up all over London these days. Hammersmith is another very popular one. Also in North London there are Stoke Newington, Wood Green, Holloway Road etc... pretty much any of the areas that arent too expensive to live. Also besides Polish shops which are in certain areas, most supermarkets are now stocking Polish food ranges. If you need any other advice on London I'd be happy to help.

Yes, it's a weekly newspaper... it is available in quite a few shops, but not everywhere... yet. ;)

You can read it online, but that's just not the same, is it. You can't kill wasps with a website, for starters. :)

Hammersmith seems to be a mini Poland ..... with a couple of Polish shops and the Polish Cultural Centre (POSK), many shop windows advertising in Polish.

Ealing & Acton have always been a heavily populated Polish area; anywhere there is a Polish church is an indicator of Polish presence.

Hounslow,Willesden, Balham and certain parts of North London ....

I have lived in UK all my life, and it's amazing to see the Polish population grow as it has over the last few years ! Certain banks have opened Polish speaking departments within their branches.

Many Poles have gone into business with the Indians - dual nationality grocers springing up all over London.

also in east london, you have upton park which is a very nice area with a large indian pakistani population.. very nice food and lots of cheap accomodation

I don't know about how many Polish people there are there,
but a couple of years ago, I knew a Polish chap who seemed to have his eye on
St. John's Wood.

Yes, there are several Polish cafes and shops in Acton, plus Hounslow seems to have a big presence!

Slough seems to be a very popular place for Poles to settle!

Hastings = loads of Poles! Keep finding them as waitresses.

Also, on the Isle of Wight a few weeks ago, staying in a holiday centre run by Warners, it is called Norton Grange, every waitress and waiter and most of the kitchen staff were Polish - there were altogether about 30 or 40 of them. Amazing!

Many places in the UK outside London have Polish communities as well. I grew up in Peterborough where there is an established Polish community dating from the Second World War and many Polish people have come to live there recently. The situation is very similar in Reading where I now live and in many other towns across the UK. Miło mi bardzo.

Don't create ghettos and "Little Polands".

Live where you want to live, just read up it first so you don't end up in some inner city hell hole.

Thats the best advice you are going to get. Polish people are pretty much everywhere in London and other parts of the UK too. You need to weigh up the cost of living vs the risk factor and whether or not you want to live in an area that has Polish shops, cultural centres etc.. Remember that some areas are a lot cheaper to live in for a reason, that being that you might not feel too safe there. So do a bit of research first before you decide on an area. Out of the 3 you mention I would personally avoid Dalston, having lived there. Its not too safe to walk about at night.

No mention of Leytonstone!!

Lovely combination of Poles, Sth Africans and the odd Cockney.

bradford is a magnet for poles. you will not find polish people in the higher class parts of london.

The South African I know who lives in Leytonstone is making a plan to move as she doesn't feel safe.

Ironic, as it is the recent influx of knife-wielding Saffas who have made the place unsafe. Give me the Poles any day.

She is planning to stay as she holds a British passport through her parents being British.

I've got quite a few mates who are born and brought up in Leytonestone and the only people they complain about for causing trouble are South Africans. They're always getting p1ssed and fighting in the high street whilst arguing in what is officially the ugliest acccent in the world. Maybe this is causing Saffaphobia.
