I must admit therer is some true in it.

It is imaginations of some polish people that anyone living abroad is so rich.So they expect gifts. (It was the same with me and my family a little. And if you are too generous in the beginning it is quite difficult to cut it off.)
What is copmpletely untrue. Lots poeple in Poland have now good salary and lots asstes.

the thing that i don't understand is, why do all the polish come here to the uk, ok yeah the money is good, but why not italy or france or somewhere like that lol, i think that there are too many people in the uk. the good thing about poland its that it isn't over populated and theres so many beautiful things there.

in london theres just houses, houses and more houses

thats a city there is much more to the UK than houses houses and more houses, I live an hour from the Lake District and have many nice places to visit on my doorstep...

lots of countryside...maybe you didn't travel out of London....

We also have lots of history, no offence but Aus isnt exactly briming with anything that exciting...maybe the Polish people like it here because it's not too different from home.

And in answer to why they move here, is because the English are more tolerent than the Italians and French.

You have more jobs than Italy or France, More Polish speak English than Italian or French and pound is quite high currency in europe.

Also yes, English are quite tolerant....

Colleen, I have family all over poland, mums the word but when I go to poland I try to avoid family and no guessing why.... too many hard luck stories, hands outstreached for more money and non stop complaining, depressing isn't it?

Very depressing indeed, but it only proves that there’s something seriously wrong with your family, not with Polish people in general.

I also had some similar problems with one of my relatives, but when it became obvious for me that this persons only concern was money, not me, I just stopped visiting her.

shelley, actually, i have been all over the uk, it is nice.

dont diss aus until youve been there love.

i think lef would agree to that.

and england actually isnt at all like poland.

i dont think that its tolerance, couse alot of people i know think there are too many foreigners here, not me of course i couldnt care less. i think the government needs to know how to say enoughs enough, you wouldnt like it if they bombarded your town with foreigners now would u, or bombed your city.

I can understand where my family is coming from, you have to understand the poles think people living in the west are all rich and money just falls off trees, certainly 20 years ago a person could visit poland and pick up things at a song, I can recall buying 20 donuts for one dollar...things are different now....people living in poland need to understand that cost of living is more expensive in the west and a airline ticket to poland from oz (return cost 4500zl) When someone visits me from poland. its all on the house, no expenses spared and no demand is made for gifts or money.

I think that it depends on people attitude and from which part of Poland they are...

Not everyone is like this. People who are more open travel more know how it is in the west. That people have car loans , mortgages.....so not everyone is as rich as it seems.
