I've lived in Poland for 3 years and had a horrible experience while living there. Alot of them are unfriendly and been robbed 4 times while living there. I lived in Germany for 5 yrs. and was told that Polish are thieves don't trst anyone and i didn't listen but learned the hard way. I was always friendly to all and trying to speak their language but they prefer not to deal with foreiners. I did meet a few very few nice people.

I don't know where you were, but next time you might want to try a bit less of a ghetto-type-neighbourhood.

I don't know where you were

I lived in Krasnik, Lublin, Pulawy, Swidnik, Radzyn Podlaski, Seidlce and can't really make any difference in my opinion about people in this area.

I'm sorry to hear about your experiences then and that it has changed your views about Polish people. No one hates the Polish criminals more than the Poles themselves as they give us this kind of reputation abroad.

Cheers

Unfortunately i've made similar experiences in Warsaw. I know it's not the whole folk to be blamed for it and it could happen in any other country but it did happen over here. Sorry guys don't mean to put you down.

It happened to me in Poland as well.. and I'm Polish ;)

Basically as a tourist, all the usual applies: Don't look like a tourist. Don't get lost in shady neighbourhoods. Watch for pickpockets in crowded places like metros.

Sorry to hear about it Joan.

Im Englsih and had my ipod stolen while I was on the underground in London. Doesnt matter who you are, where youre from, or where you are, people steal all around the world. Why should Poland be any different?

"Dear mom,

I have arrived in Barcelona. The weather is really nice. The food is really good. Thank you for the scarf. People like to fondle my family jewels through my pocket. Say hi to dad for me.

Greetings,

Bubba."

Abgesehen davon glaube ich nicht unbedingt dass du ein Deutscher bist. Deine Reaktion ist fuer eienen Deutschen ziemlich merkwuerdig (kein deutsches keyboard, sorry).

75% chance that the thief wasn't English then !! <smile>

I know the percentage is wrong everybody but I can't be bothered to look up the London census data again
