I've been to Krakow are time but was never able to find a good bagel shop. Does anyone know of any? Are bagels popular in any other PL city? I didn't see any in Poznan or around the tri city area.

I haven't come across bagels like in the US, but there are "obważanki" which look like bagels, but are smaller, dry and taste nothing like bagels.

Well, the inventer of bagels created them in Krakow, so I figured they'd have a super excellent bagel shop.

There was a cafe/bakery place on chmielna street in warsaw that had "american" bagels. This was a few years ago. I was just in poland a few weeks ago but never thought to look and see if they still had them.

Hi, As a visiting American (of Polish decent) in Krakow, I was suprised to see a human drawn (1920's style) PushCart, filled with what looks like Bagels (perhaps 1000), whose attendent told me that the locals eat them in the mid-afternoon to tide them over until dinner. Perhaps your timing was off. My memory was not that however of a US Starbucks or Deli bagel. Try the local cuisine; there are great restaurant options. Good Luck, Fran
