I am just surprised at the lack of general knowledge of most of the American posters in regards to US elections.

I am surprised at how other countries know what's best for America without ever stepping foot here, getting all their information from TV and not living the daily struggles we go through. We are being taxed out of our homes, we have homeless people, poverty yet other countries tell us who we should pick for president so he can help them out.

miranda:
It is actually quite scary.

Yes, very scary.

yah, as if US is not butting on other coutries' affairs Krysia. It just seems that based on what I have read you are too being manipulad by your own media when it comes to choosing the new president.

Other countries are concerned because US effects them, especially when it comes to foreign policies. The truth is that we are not concerned about your domestic affairs.

I have read to day in the Polish press that Obama is the first American candidate who is not using government or other sources (unlike Republicans) for his election.
He actually has a website for donations from the public, so that is a big plus.

I think you are being a little paranoid about other people commenting on US elections. The truth is that it is not in your sole interest but also in the interest of the whole world to have a sound US president.

Our media is blatantly in favor of Obama and almost completely ignores McCain.

Other countries are concerned because US effects them, especially when it comes to foreign policies.

So shouldn't you be for, say, someone like Ron Paul, Bob Barr, or Chuck Baldwin?

The truth is that we are not concerned about your domestic affairs.

Well you should. A weak American economy means a weak world economy.

I have read to day in the Polish press that Obama is the first American candidate who is not using government or other sources (unlike Republicans) for his election.
He actually has a website for donations form the public, so that is a big plus.

That's not a big plus. He's getting huge donations from big corporations, bureaucratic fat-cats, and special interest groups like agribusiness.

The truth is that it is not in your sole interest but also in the interest of the whole world to have a sound US president.

Sound US President = Not Obama.

It seems to me that I was once told, that since I was an American, that I should refrain from telling Canadians what to do. Hmmm, Am I missing something here?

McCain, wasn't he the man who 'joked' about bo bo bo bo bombing Iran'? What a sad man!! He's a Vietnam vet, the war America glorified and lost.

I'd much rather a fresh-faced Obama, a guy who will raise the profile of America on an international scale. A man who isn't governned by the PNAC hawks.

why is that? I don't watch American TV.
Krazy Kaju:
So shouldn't you be for, say, someone like Ron Paul, Bob Barr, or Chuck Baldwin?

are they running?
Krazy Kaju:
Well you should. A weak American economy means a weak world economy.

possible, but most countries are concerned about their own economies. I was just being honest here. Don't tell me that Americans care about the world's economies unless it is there to be exploited.
Krazy Kaju:

is he? Can you actually prove it because this is not what I have read. Unless it is a scam. Still - I would need more prove in order to believe it.
Krazy Kaju:
Sound US President = Not Obama.

what choice to you really have.

Anyways, regardless of who the president will be, I cannot really see US politics changing that much so soon.

It will be interesting to see what happens in Oct.

The guy who will send our economy into even greater ruin than it is?

There's no doubt that the next President will get the blame for an inevitable recession, but Obama will make it much, much worse with his high tax-high regulation-high tariff policies. McCain is at least in favor of school choice, lower taxes to induce investment, and more free trade.

miranda:

Because they're leftists? These are the same people who had hardons for Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

are they running?

Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin are running.

Maybe the average American doesn't, but if you've had a college education you should care.

Well it sure seems that you are? Why else do you keep on talking out your ass?

WE dont need your advice about our country especially from a Canadian who has never lived here!

Worry about your own country not mine because you really dont have a clue.

I`m so glad these people arent allowed to vote!!!!!

McCain is nothing more than George Bush Part II. This man has backspun and backflipped on so many issues it's pitiful. I can't trust a man like that. He stated he honestly didn't have alot of experience with economic issues...and when asked about his quote...he stated..."i don't remember that." Either he's a liar or he's suffering from early onset Alzheimer's disease.

I could care less about his military background. Bill Clinton didn't have a big military background either and this country prospered like it had never prospered before. For once, we saw our debt in the black...it took George Bush only 4 years to put us back in the red. We are looking at a trillion dollar debt under this man...and I refuse to vote for a counterpart such as McCain.

Well said. BTW, it's couldn't care less.

Isn't it sad that McCains made French fries? LOL How dare they criticise France for maintaining a neutral stance?

Roll on Obama!!

What is a rock-star welcome?

Does it have anything to do with the copious quantities of drink and drugs they might bring along?

Comparing Obama with Clinton is a huge mistake. For one thing, Clinton had a fiscal conservative Republican-controlled Congress keeping him in check and Greenspan creating huge dot com, telecom, and housing bubbles due to loose monetary policy. Also, Clinton had a few smart economic ideas, like signing NAFTA, CAFTA, and other free trade agreements, all of which Obama opposes.

Bush inherited the dot com, telecom, and housing bubbles that all burst as they always inevitably do. Did Bush screw up in a lot of stuff? Yes.

Obama wants a windfall profits tax and no more free trade. I'm sorry, but if you don't see the Jimmy Carter-esque economic disaster in that, I don't know what you do see.

no, I am not. I know that the elections are in November.

Sledz, I never told you who to vote for. Yet, I have my preferances and so do you.
Speaking my mind is not speaking out of my ass.

Most countries have a problem with the US foreing policies, which you as an American are not concerned with. Domestic US policies are not a concern for other countries.
