Seems like BBC Prime is going to broadcast in the future with a dub-over in Polish, because according to the article in Gazeta they conducted a survey that said most people opted for a dubbing option rather than subtitles.

That's great, except that us expats with limited Polish vocabulary will have a hard time.
More importantly, as an English teacher this was a very useful tool for students to polish their English skills.

Lucky that I found a way of getting the BBC on the Internet, although it's illegal!!

How can this be illegal?
Isn't BBC funded by taxpayers?

No each household must have a TV licence which costs £140 or there abouts per year...in a house that has rented rooms, each person who rents a room must have a licence, if they dont they can be fined, when a person purchases a TV they have to fill in a form with their name and address, this is then sent to the TV licencing people who then know who has a licence and who doesnt...So watching it on the internet is technically illegal.

holy maccaroni, that's pretty steep, I didn't know that.
Still, kinda makes me wonder about BBC world service that is broadcast all over the world, including countries where people pay no such fees.

This is correct, because they block non Uk I.P. addresses so the only way to do it is to go through a UK proxy, but as soon as you find them the BBC blocks the I.P. and you have to keep on finding a new UK proxy.

I think this is a bit strong, it all depends on how they worded the survey and who they asked and to generalise a nation because of this is not right.

Poles will watch any programme with a dub over, this is fecking stoopid i.e. the same male voice dubbing female, male, children. Does anyone remember Monkey Magic??? (at least they had different voices for pig and monkey!!) BBC Prime is bad enough without this!

If you have Polsat can you revert back to the original language of the programme (i.e. English) with the press a button? I know that this works (sometimes with certain stations) with Cyfra +

Has anyone seen that load a pish station called Fox Life!

I seem to recall Foreigner4 saying that he had BBC Prime. There are many talented English speakers here but the Germans are stronger 4 sure.

The B.B.C. World Service is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth office.
