'The Mental Health Act 1978'

I know so many youth as well as adults on anti depressants. It is mind bogling. Kids have parents that ignore them so they get depressed and the doc's medicate them. Also the diet is another problem leading to poor mental health. Still River oh yes very much so. This thread is taking a bit of a twist, it is a discussion we should start a new thread on.

Let's take the saying 'A leopard never changes his spots'. Whoever invented that saying should be shot because all the sheep in the flock have followed this one. When someone says to me (usually in a high, whiny, pessimistic voice)
"eewwww.. they won't change... a leopard never changes his spots". I have this uncontrollable urge to slap 'em up-the-face' for being so bloody narrow minded.........

You have slapped the correct right across the whiny erudite for a high score.

Life is like a box of choclates you never,,, aww that's another stupid one, idiot couldn't read the bloody key that came with the chocolates.

revised version: Life is like a box of chocolates, eat em and it's all gone.

I'd never blame someone's behaviour on their country, religion or skin colour etc. The individual makes his or her own choices in life.

funny that in many many cases this so called bad behaviour and bad attitude are seen among people of the same nationality. have a closer look in the sigles section and you will see what i mean. suppose some countries have more bad apples than other countries...

I fully agree.

Perhaps it's a cultural/media (not mutually exclusive) thing. People are led to believe the stereotypes they see and hear around them.

In my life I have learned to take each person as I find them.

nationality

You mentioned only three nations. There are more than 300 nations. To avoid discrimination... you must utter the names of every nation :).

Misanthropy is the way forward then. Expect people to be a let down and you can never be disappointed :)

I get a little bit bored with seeing the same things over and over - do people not understand that a nationality does not dictate the way one person acts. To simplify this; Women will be what they want to be, being Polish or English or American has very little bearing on this. I understand that people are looking for answers but I think if you are in a bad relationship move on dont look to blame this on a nation or to seek answers from people who do not really hold the answers. Reasurance / answers come from dialauge from the person you are involved with in your apparent unhappiness. Men and Women are all different, good and bad behaviour is prevalent in all walkes of life.

Exactly!! For instance. I just posted that i needed a pen pal. What did i get? Someone sending a reply calling "YAHOO!!". Just because people from my country do funny things doesnt mean i will be the same. Its insane when people think like that.

When you have had hundreds of very similar messages from obvious scammers..ALL with yahoo address ...and ALL giving that address in the first mail...then you tend to be a little sceptical of such messages...

I find it best to go and stay awhile where the people you want to meet live ,or better where they spend the holiday. This is a much better way to meet people. Not the local pub either. Try meeting someone that does not speak your language and you can really get to know so much more about that person that you may have overlooked. Life is a much better adventure in the flesh rather than some silly internet game. The game is best played out on the field!
