Best way to approach this - Polish Feature

Hello; I'm a Journalist and Photographer currently working on a feature regarding the 'Revival of Morecambe' in Lancashire.

Of particular interest and importance to the the new spectrum of life in Morecambe is the recent steady influx of Polish workers to the area. I'm looking to meet with some polish workers and document part of their daily lives, with regard to Morecambe and its reemerging economic success in the wake of large seafront redevelopment.

My Polish is attrocious. (A recent visit to Warsaw was ready proof of that!) and I was looking to gather just a little bit of first hand information/opinion on what the general concesus here would be in engaging in such a task.

Whats the best way to approach a few Polish workers? At work, down the pub? Got any tips, or advice?

Kindest regards

James Ball

They generally don’t bite as long as you don’t pull their tails or try to steal food from their bowl.

Seriously, if I was doing some investigative journalism I’d try all of your suggested ideas for meeting Polish people, the majority of Polish people I’ve met in the UK can speak English well enough so fluent Polish shouldn’t be a requirement but at least some effort to show respect for their language [please, thank-you, conversational stuff] is appreciated.
