Best way to get from Gdansk Airport to Kolobrezg

The question is in the title really. Any idea how long it would take and the best way to get there (ideally on public transport)? Szczecin is the nearest airport, but the transport connections are quite limited.

Also, what's Kolobrzeg like in Winter? I've only been there in Summer - am thinking about going there later in the year. Either Autumn or over new year.

with Master Trans URL
You got to book it first at least 24h befort depart: mobile +48601887770.

Cheer Bramkaz - in fact the Mastertrans link is very handy. I actually used them on my last trip there, but (and its a long story why), I ended up having to get a taxi back to Szczecin airport on the way back <weep>

I'm thinking about meeting up in Kolobrzeg with some friends from Bristol, so ideally they would fly to Gdansk from Bristol Airport rather than schlep to Stansted.

Cheers m'dear - I'll bear that in mind. I should have given you a shout last time I was there, a few weeks ago.

Not "bracing" then? I've got this idea of getting wrapped up, going for various walks then hanging out in the spas and having loads of treatments and a few beers in the evening. Am I being optimistic with that? Or will it be like Weston-Super-Mare in November? LOL!

seem to remember, that easyjet has stopped flying from Bristol to Gdansk, and not aware that another airline does.

You're right. i was going by the list of connections on the Polish National Tourist Office website, but just checked on the EJ website and Bristol - Gdansk isn't there.

Back to the drawingboard.....

Witnters at the Baltic coast are the mildest in Poland. It is rarely very very cold, but it is often very windy. The coast is the place where Atlantic lows are attackig Poland after passing UK and jumping over Denmark, so the weather is often rainy with temperatures around 0 C and strong wind.
But forecasting winter weathr in Poland is very hard - the winters here are generally very different one from another. There is no standard pattern. For example mean temperature of January in Warsaw this and last year was about +3 C (+5 day, 0 C night) while two years ago it was -10 C (about two weeks af frost at about -20 C dropping to -32 C).
Very often the weather changes and there is one week of frost and one week of rain (this pattern is used in a saying that says: "If Barbaras nameday is "on water" than Christmas will be "on ice", and other way round")...

I know that it is not very helpful but this is the main pattern of Polish climate.
If you are in London you know it will be rainy, if you are in Moscow you know it will be freezing. And in Polant it won't be in between but rain or frost or one afer another...

There should be many trains from Gda雟k to Koszalin and then you've got about 30km left to Ko這brzeg and there should be many options, local trains, buses, mini-buses...

Cheers chaps.... so any idea how much a taxi from Koszalin to Ko這brzeg would cost? I guess it's got to be a lot less than the PLN 350 that I paid to get a taxi from Ko這brzeg to Szczecin airport LOL!!

LC, there should be at least 10 trains a day from Koszalin to Ko這brzeg, so there's no need for a taxi.

Cool - thanks, that's good to know.

As much as I love Ko這brzeg, I really don't want to see the train station ever again.... last time I was there, the staff were really unhelpful when I was trying to get to Szczecin, and sold me a train ticket, even there were no trains in that direction for at least 4 hours :(

Londonchick.....my car is a bit poorly at the moment , but hopefully i will have it sorted soon....I would be happy to give you a lift from airport to the sea if i am not working at the time.....It sounds as though you won,t really have a problem though....I would hate to see you stranded in a deserted rail station...

Awww... that's very sweet of you. I'm loving the "pay it forward" culture that we're creating here on PF :))

The reason that I ended up stranded last time was due to a bit of a mix up... I was there on a business trip, and my hosts arranged my airport transfer with Mastertrans. As Mastertrans had dropped me at my hotel, I wrongly assumed that that they'd pick me up from the same place at the given time, rather than the bus stop down at the train station. I had 4 hours to get to the airport, and really couldn't believe that the only way there was to have to shell out for a taxi.

I don,t know about the rail stations in that area , but i have been told that railway stations are not a good place to be hanging around on your own , especially for a lady... They seem to attract some dodgy types , no doubt due to the better chances of finding a rich and possibly easy target..i ...My friend Magda has a brother that lives in Kolobrzeg that could meet you if you get stuck that end , but i suspect you have that covered and the problem may be at the Goleniow end...Goleniow is only an hours drive from my home , so me and my lady could come and make sure you are not stuck on your own till your bus shows up...
