Quoting: Amathyst, Post #57
It wont until its too late, more riots, more people going over the BNP and eventually you'll see whole different country....not sure its one I really want to live in, might move to France...lol

i think you should go to a poorer country, come back and thank god that you live in the uk. these problems are not impossible to solve.france has its own problems too.do you remember recent racial tensions in france and racial problems in spain?

Rafik is right. All countries have their problems. When you go away on holiday you only see the good side of a country-living and working there is very different.I don't understand why some people who live in shitty towns (in the UK) don't just move to better, more interesting parts of the UK-there are many wonderful places in Britain.

I moved from London to Bristol 3 years ago, and I kinda wish I hadn't!

I lived in Holland for 4 years, and believe me it is not the most tolerent and liberal country you are led to believe.. I lved up in the North though in the countryside, i liked that..

As Truebrit and Rafik said, only by living somewhere else do you get to appreciate what you had before. I found myself being very defensive towards Britain when people were critical of it.

I agree the English Lakedistrict is fantastic. My only complaint is it gets a bit busy these days.
40 mins from Manchester? You must drive fast! How is Manchester these days? I was at Salford Uni9 years ago. Bet it has changed a bit since then......

I studied Mechanical Engineering. In the first year I lived at Castle Irwell (not very nice!), second and third years I was in Lower Broughton. Very rough!. I remember seeing the police heicopter over most nights - it was like being in a scene from Police Camera Action! My friend was in the rowing club and in the 3 years he found 2 dead bodies in the River Irwell. frightening! Was a bit of an eye opener for me coming from quiet Cumbria. If I remember right the Arndale Centre was blown up by the IRA in between my 2nd & 3rd years.
There are nice areas though - Castlefieds, Salford Keys etc. How long have you live in Manchester?

As an Englishman, I would advise any Pole coming to England to join a trade-union, because if things go wrong, they can be a very useful source of information and help.

Most of the Poles I have so far met, have been really nice people who work hard and do not expect special privileges, and it hurts me to think that a small percentage will be exploited by a few bad people; many of whom will be rogue employers or rogue agencies.

I sincerely wish that greater support was made available to people (and especially young people) who find themselves in difficulties or homeless in the UK, because I admire anyone who bravely goes to a foreign country, finds a job and tries to make a future for themselves.

That stated, I find that many Poles are quite happy and settled, and earning quite good money.

I'm totally surprised to read this articles today in two leading news papers. It explain how important now for us to understand what will happen in near future to our NHS. 5,000 Polish babies born in UK every year.. can you imagine that?

Oh .....It was a serious mistake to give poor Eastern european countries unrestricted membership of the european community. Unsustainable numbers of their citizens are coming to the richer European countries to unashamedly take advantage of their liberal Social Security systems. The idea of getting money without working, and free housing, free medical care, free schooling and a host of other benefits, is most attractive to someone who has had a hard life in a poor country. England, France and Italy will be bankrupted by unstoppable waves of immigrants within 20 years.

I have Polish friends so it would seem they integrate quite well...they are westernised and practically exactly the same as English...no real cultural differences...I wont point out the differences between Pakistanis and English it would take too long.

Oi my dad is british and i was born in Uk.. who the hell you saying this to me fuc**** poles

We know this UK, but you seem to think you have the right to tell people to get out of this country when in fact your mother was an immigrant who had a child here so what is the difference, do you have figures on how many of these Polish women had English partners / husbands or if some were English women married to Polish men...same situation as you only the big difference is they are legal immigrants here in this country in their own right.
