Okay fokes, due to the wet warm weather we now have mozzies in the uk, Just as nasty as the ones in all those lovely sunny destinations I often get bitten in - I have fallen prey to one of these nasty little critters and now have a canckle which is being treated with anibiotics because it swelled up so much and went a nasty red colour from anckle to knee!!!! I have a wonderful weekend planned with a lovely frock.....somebody hates me up there!!!

Oh no! I've had enough problems with wasps over the past two days...now I've got mozzies to worry about too! Does Raid work on them???

Sorry to hear about your weekend.

I haven't found anything that works apart from wearing burka and tights when I go out on holidays with my socks tucked into my knee length boots...but it gets quite warm :)

Im still going out honey!

Fear not - the Koreans have an answer. Most bizarre solution I've ever hear of mind you.

Korea's SK Telecom yesterday unveiled a service to turn the cellphone into a mobile mosquito repellent. For 3,000 won (£1.54), users can download a sound file that is inaudible to the human ear but helps ward off mosquitoes within a one-metre radius, the firm said. However, this "silent" melody consumes as much power a normal ringtone so customers will need to employ it sparingly.

After reading that, I think I'll just have to invent Mega Raid Mozzie Killer!

Hahah me and afew freinds went down our recreation ground to play some football othernight and came under mass attack, there were literally hundreds of the little buggers flying over our heads and they would actually hunt you and stay with you at running speed, we kinda forgot about the football and were running away jus to avoid getting bitten flailing limbs and all, bet we looked like the cool kids who just got off the shortbus.

Just watch out for the mosquitos that carry Bot fly eggs :) Then you're dealing with a nasty outcome :) The larvae grows under your skin and you have to pull the maggot looking thing out...yuk :)

not unless they go under a different name, I've never heard of them

isn't supposed to be something to do with your blood group, whether you attract mosquitos or not?

that's interesting !! what's your blood group then daisy if you don't get bitten ? Cos I once got bitten dreadfully in Italy.....I haven't seen any mosquitoes in the NW yet !!

It's the wasps that keep trying to kill me, I tried to sit outside yesterday, not one wasp about . Five minutes later there were ten surrounding me. Am getting really scared of them lol.....

:)

I don't know if it's true, I just thought I'd heard it mentioned once. I'm A negative, that's my blood group not my brain condition.
