165 USD per day, for a single traveler, groups are a bit cheaper. Mine was also a bit cheaper because I went there in the low season.
But doing it solo is definitely the best way to go, you can stop along the way as much as you want, and nobody's kvetching.
The company I used was OK, Bhutanese owned, with offices in the UK and Thimphu, but I definitely want to try a different one next time. Also Bhutanese, and not a foreign operator, if I'm gonna spend that much money, I want the locals to benefit.
However, when compared to other guides I saw along the way, mine were excellent! As a solo traveler, I had a driver and a guide all to myself, and it was kinda fun to have two men wait on me hand and foot.
They also have lady guides in the country, not many, maybe only 15 of them so far, but more and more girls want to get into that line of work.
Send me a PM if you want more info - I'm just writing an article on Bhutan for a travel magazine.
